NO COMPARISON!

God has no equal. No rivals. No shortages. No needs. He is before all things and at the end of the day He will be the last one standing. The world is filled with “little g” gods, but our God made the heavens and the earth. No one compares to Him. No one even comes close.

I will walk in that truth today. I will believe it. And act like it. And pray like it. And give like it. And live like it. And be glad about it. And talk about it. And praise like it...because there is none like MY GOD. Amen!

We Have a REMARKABLE PROMISE!

"For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There  will  be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this." (Isaiah 9:6‭-‬7 NKJV)

Miracles!

Look in the mirror and tell me what you see. I see a miracle each morning when I look in my mirror! Some would say that miracles don't happen anymore, but I'm convinced that I myself am a living, walking breathing, rejoicing and a grateful recipient of God's miracle, each and every day that He calls me forth into a new day!

I'm sending up a HALLELUJAH SHOUT, because when I look in the mirror, I see that God has cleaned up that which He should've thrown away!

Now, I ask you again: what did you see in YOUR mirror this morning? Yes, yes and yes...a MIRACLE!!!

Walk In the Morning Light and Stop Tripping In the Darkness!

Too many of us are living in dangerous situations. Whether it may be a physically or verbally abusive relationship, a financially-strained marriage, a jealous and envious friendship, or even a toxic work environment, chaos and violence has become the norm.

When we spend countless hours living in toxic environments, even when we know it is not good for us, we become no longer sensitive to them. Our defenses are weakened and all of the negative energy around us starts to seep in. It becomes common for our significant other to belittle and call us names. It becomes the standard of love for trust to not be present. These are toxic situations, which unfortunately, have become a lifestyle for those who have become used to it.

In life, some have often stayed in situations that were toxic, because they did not understand their worth nor did they believe there was something better. When things become comfortable, even though in a mental prison, it is hard to break free. In these situations, our self-worth is consistently weakened  on the daily to the point where we do not really know who we are anymore. It's hard to live, yet our options seem few and far in between.

Many of us are living in very dark situations. However, we can steer clear of toxic people and toxic relationships. How do i know? I know because Jesus died to set the captive free and to introduce to all, an abundant life in Christ. I know because His death, burial and resurrection is our permission to escape the night. I now know that the night does not have to become the norm nor the standard for our life. I believe that In Christ, we are free to live as Christ intended for us to live!

You are deserving of love and compassion. You have permission to dream and activate those dreams into reality. The first step in escaping the night is to realize our worth in Christ. We are more than conquerors. We are the head and not the tail. We are loved beyond measure.

Today, make the decision to escape the night by getting rid of those people and circumstances that hold you back from what God has for you. Today, make the decision to walk into the morning light.

God's Got You!

Regardless of what it looks like, "I've Got You", says The Lord!

“I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you.’ Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you. “Count on it: Everyone who had it in for you will end up out in the cold— real losers. Those who worked against you will end up empty-handed— nothing to show for their lives. When you go out looking for your old adversaries you won’t find them— Not a trace of your old enemies, not even a memory. That’s right. Because I, your God , have a firm grip on you and I’m not letting go. I’m telling you, ‘Don’t panic. I’m right here to help you.’ (Isaiah 41:10‭-‬13 MSG)

SPEAK with Specificity and SPEAK Intentionally!

Pray the way Jesus teaches us to pray. When we do we will find that those mountains in our life, those things that are in our way will move!

Pray in faith and believe in God and as the Bible says SPEAK, "Be removed and be cast into the sea."

So, today I encourage you and I to speak to our mountains. Our mountain is waiting for you and I to speak to it; our mountain is waiting for instructions from us!

You want obstacles removed? Speak to them! Your mountains have been waiting to hear from you.

For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. (Mark 11:23 NKJV)

God Needs for You to be Different

Some people will never understand your level of Calling and Giftedness. There will always be those who doubt you and the hard truth is that those that are closest to you are your BIGGEST NAYSAYERS (trust me I know). However today, hold on to hope in the face of your naysayers.

Every day we wrestle with negative people and even our own negative thoughts. Today begin the process of learning how to operate in your Calling and Giftedness between the space of pessimism and possibility. Today be the voice that cuts against the grain no matter what others may think of you; no matter their attempts to belittle you; and no matter if they recognize the move of God in your life or if they choose to ignore it. Your naysayers can never trump what God is doing in your life...God shall get the glory out of your life!

The world needs you to be different.

Amen.

Thanksgiving Week

Tuesday

Thanksgiving Day is a time to be with family and to enjoy their presence over a meal. Most do the traditional Turkey with all of the fixings and some prepare a dish of their choosing. Whatever we choose to serve on Thursday, the occasion is the same; it's Thanksgiving and it is our goal to share in love, laughter and life in general.

Christian Thanksgiving is the intentional recalling of ALL that God has done, is doing and will do in our lives and it is our beginning of worship!

May you be blessed in both the day with family and during each moment when you think of the goodness of God in your life.

Whatever you may have planned for this week with your family, make sure that when you celebrate, that you carve out time for for both the traditional observation and the spiritual necessity of being Thankful.

Blessings for your day.

Thanksgiving Week: Thankful for Eyes to See Jesus in His Church!

There's a big difference between going to church and being the church. You see, one day Jesus will crack the sky and call up the church to be with Him, while some will still be going to church, totally missing that Christ came back because they weren't looking for Him but instead they were more concerned with their appearance in church; their position in church; and their status in church. These are those church goers that did everything to be seen, yet they themselves didn't see Jesus who is the head of the church.

You can have "A Life" and not "That Life"!

Folks we can get up and get out everyday with very little purpose besides "How can I slip under the radar yet again?" Some of us are not LIVING our lives, but we are merely existing. Some have no ambition, desire or purpose outside of chillin', a word that has been another word for laziness.

If this is you, I'm here to tell you that when you give your life to God that you are no longer merely existing, but you begin LIVING an abundant life full of grace and mercy, acceptance and love, purposely and powerfully, joyfully  and peaceably  and respectful and admired.

Now, I don't know about you and where you are right now, but I must tell you that you can have "A Life" or you can have "That Life":

• Yeah, "That Life", the one that was meant for you to live BEFORE the devil stole your identity, destroyed your family and killed your ambition to be counted as worthy of being more!

• Yeah, "That Life", the one that you thought that you lost when you made some wrong choices and people walked away from you

• Yeah, "That Life", the one you lay awake during the night reminiscing about, but not hopeful that it shall ever be that way again

• Yeah, "That Life", the one your parents prayed over you when you was born...a life full of accomplishments, respect, happiness and impact.

Somewhere and somehow, we stopped living, but Jesus has come to not only restore life, but to give you abundant life.

TODAY is a great day to be about "That Life" and not just living "a life". Ask Jesus to come into your life and let Him bless you. That's what He has for you - blessings so that you can have "That Life" and greatly change "This Life"!

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 NKJV)

Wednesday's Word

"I summon you by name and bestow on you a title of honor, though you do not acknowledge me.  I am the Lord , and there is no other; apart from Me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged Me, so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides Me. I am the Lord , and there is no other."  (Isaiah 45:4‭-‬6 NIV)

Trust That God STILL Loves You!

David remembers what God has done before and he now calls on Him again. David says that in his haste, that he thought that he was cut off from the Lord.

Perhaps there was a time that you called upon The Lord but find that for various reasons, you don't call upon Him as frequently as in times past?

Perhaps there's someone reading this that may think that because of some misstep or mistakes or downright wrongful living, that your prayers are not heard or that you are disqualified for The Lord's love and blessings?

Well I'm here to tell you that when you gave your life to God, you became part of His family and He does care for you and He STILL loves you and He does protect you!

Yeah, I too have wavered from time to time. Yeah, folks talk about me, both in my face and behind my back. I've been laughed at, not taken seriously and I've been ridiculed. But, I had to get beyond man's ways and man's words and I had to trust God's Will and God's Word!

Today, in spite of what I may have done on yesterday, I KNOW that when I call on the name of The Lord  that He hears and He moves and He protects and He loves me!

Guess what, the same applies to each and every one of those who have come to God, those who have given their lives to Him by way of the redemption made by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. C'mon back and call on the name of The Lord again!

"Oh, how great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those who fear You, Which You have prepared for those who trust in You In the presence of the sons of men! You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence From the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion From the strife of tongues. Blessed be the Lord, For He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city! For I said in my haste, “I am cut off from before Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications When I cried out to You. Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, And fully repays the proud person. Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord." (Ps 31:19‭-‬24 NKJV)

Not My Wisdom, But the Power of God!

“And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”
(1 Corinthians 2:4-5 KJV)

The "Little" Matters

Oftentimes we aren't handling "the little" very well, so when "much" comes, we're not ready.

Jesus says, “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones." (Luke 16:10‭ NLT)

Morning Glory

Morning Glory, it doesn't take a church building, a congregation or musicians...it just needs a willing spirit and a seeking heart!

There's just something about starting your day with a Hymnal during your early morning praise and worship. Reading and meditating on His Word and then singing (humming in my case), soul cleansing and inspiring hymns that really puts things into perspective.

Here's one of those Hymns (Chorus only):

"Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone,
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living,
Just because He lives!"

May you be blessed as I was blessed on this morning. Have a great weekend!

Who's Praying Right Now?

Intercessors, are you interceding? Prayer Warriors, are you praying? Church, are you at your Post on the wall?

Our neighborhoods, cities, states and our nation is in need of prayer. Now is not the time for the people of God to be silent!

Upon your walls, Jerusalem, I have stationed sentinels; By day and by night, they shall never be silent. You who are to remind the Lord , take no rest, And give Him no rest, until He re-establishes Jerusalem And makes it the praise of the earth. (Is 62:6‭-‬7 NABRE)

Let Not Your Confidence Be Shaken!!

Put this song in your heart.

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

His oath, His covenant, and blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When every earthly prop gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found,
Clothed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne!
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

Do You Have "Bounce-ability"?

Do you remember years ago they used to have these things called Super Balls? When you bounced it on the ground, it’d go 30 or 40 feet high. Why? Because the center of a Super Ball was a tightly compacted, solid core. That’s what gave it its bounce-ability.

When your core is solid in God, you have bounce-ability. You bounce back from stress faster. You bounce back from problems faster. You bounce back from grief faster. You bounce back from crisis faster. You have something solid in your life that doesn’t change, and you worry less.

The Bible says in Philippians 4:6-7, “Instead of worrying, pray .... It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life” (MSG).

It Is You!

Don't let the opinions of others prevent you from living the life that Jesus came to secure for us. God created you, rescued you, Called you, gifted you and sent you!

Why are you concerning yourself with the judgement and concerns of those who can't and oftentimes won't do anything for you other than try to convince you that "It Ain't You?"

Announce again today, "I AM CHRIST'S SERVANT!" Now, get back on track.

Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. (Galatians 1:10 NLT)

Check Yourself

When we live our lives led by pride and presumption (entitlement), then we must also know that following close behind is shame and sorrow.

“First pride, then the crash— the bigger the ego, the harder the fall.” (Proverbs‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭MSG‬‬)

Longing for Restoration of Former Health and Life

Everyone, at some point in his or her life, will face a severe crisis. The crisis may be dealing with health, finances, relationships, employment, children, or any number of other areas. Some people will even face many/multiple crisis. Ultimately, though, none of us can avoid this fact of life: tragedies do happen.

Many times during crisis, we often bear the pain and seek for solutions within ourselves or from friends. Our hearts long to return to the former days before the crisis struck, before our lives changed so much. A desire stirs within our hearts to get a fresh start, a new beginning. At that time, we must make a choice: Who will we turn to for help?

Have you come to the point to where you could take no more...

• no more pain
• no more disrespect
• no more isolation from your family
• no more rejection by your community
• no more false accusations
• no more alienation or refusals

We have to get to where we long for the preciousness of God's daily care and protection.

Job's response: “Oh, how I long for the good old days, when God took such very good care of me. He always held a lamp before me and I walked through the dark by its light. Oh, how I miss those golden years when God’s friendship graced my home, When the Mighty One was still by my side and my children were all around me, When everything was going my way, and nothing seemed too difficult." (Job 29:1‭-‬6 MSG)

Though Job understandably wished God would turn back time, note what he missed and longed for the most: the presence and guidance of God. God’s presence and care, His watchful eye, are the greatest blessings on earth. They are far greater than any material prosperity we may enjoy. When we are facing our own tragedies or battles, whether great or small, we need to remember the greatest blessing of all: the presence of God in our lives. He is always there for us. He always hears and answers our prayers - in His time and in His way. God's Word is full of encouragement and assurance for His children. We need only turn to His Word or get down on our knees to access ALL that God has to offer.

Be blessed on this day that The Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

Let's Come Clean!

Wow!!! How scary it is to know that because of our mindsets, even the best work that we do for The Lord can become corrupt. We could be wanting and working to serve God yet still be horribly off course. It's difficult to remain pure in mind because it's so easy to convince ourselves that what we are doing on Sundays outweighs our lifestyles during the rest of the week.

However, even the best that we offer and do for God is defiled when we dishonor those who have been placed in leadership; when we dishonor our marriages, cause strife in the family, lie or discredit our brothers and sisters. Our work comes to nothing when we are two-faced, conceited and arrogant. When we act this way we are not representing Christ at all.

To come clean means that we don't just wash our hands, but that we wash our thoughts, wash our motives and wash our hearts!

Let's Come Clean!

"To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted. They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny Him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good." (Titus 1:15‭-‬16 NIV)

Open Your Mouth and Begin to Speak!

Acts chapter 11 - Noontime Bible Study

Who thinks that they can stand in the way of what God is doing? If your answer is nobody and you truly believe it, then open your mouth without fear and tell The Good News and watch how God moves in your life and in the lives of others.

Peter was called out of his comfort zone; pulled outside of his tradition, culture and customs; and Peter was tremendously used by God to usher in the gift of The Holy Spirit to those who were seen as unworthy, unclean and unimportant.

Again, God wants to use us. Are we ready to trust God and move beyond our tradition, race and other worldly obstacles?

“As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as He had come on us at the beginning. Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ So if God gave them the same gift He gave us who believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?” When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.” (Acts 11:15-18 NIV)

AND THE WINNER IS...

Great Monday Morning! I spent the entire day and evening at my church yesterday. I hear that my Steelers lost "BIG TIME". Although, my sports team may have lost a game, my God made me and all those who believe in Him a winner in Christ Jesus, not only on yesterday, but today, tomorrow and for all eternity! #Victorious #Blessed #MoreThanConquerors #WinningTeam 🙏🙏🙏

Love Builds Up!

1 Corinthians 8:1 says, "We know that we all possess knowledge. But knowledge puffs up while love builds up."

Think on this verse today on how knowledge "PUFFS one up", then think of the opposite, that unlike knowledge, Love doesn't puff up, but it BUILDS ONE UP.

What does this verse say to you about knowledge and love?

So What! (Today's Noontime Bible Study Class at work)

The Bible is clear about who God loves, "for God SO LOVED the world". The world includes YOU!

• So what, you're not wealthy
• So what, you may have failed
• So what, you have cussed & fussed
• So what, you haven't been to church
• So what, you haven't cleaned yourself up
• So what, no one else in your family is Saved
• So what, you don't think that you are worthy

God LOVES YOU! Don't worry about those who "think" they are in a position to tell you what God thinks of you. People are quick to label other people; perhaps labeling other people makes one feel better about their own transgressions and shortcomings.

The Apostle Peter felt himself to be  "above" the Gentiles. Peter was a Jew, had received the law and the oracles of God, was a leader in the Jerusalem church, on and on and on. In essence, Peter was a church goer. However, God had to deal with Peter's biases much like He does our biases today. The church needs to open its eyes, hearts and doors to those who are in need of joy and not judgement; in need of salvation and not segregation; in need of strength and not stress; in need of acceptance and not abandonment just because they aren't JUST LIKE YOU or resemble your church as you have come to know it traditionally. Like Peter, we need to change our view, perception and acceptance. Are we truly ready to be THE CHURCH...not just a black church or a white church...are we ready to accept the addict, tattooed and pierced? What are the barriers that we need to tear down?

Peter told them, “You know it is against our laws for a Jewish man to enter a Gentile home like this or to associate with you. But God has shown me that I should no longer think of anyone as impure or unclean. So I came without objection as soon as I was sent for. Now tell me why you sent for me.” Cornelius replied, “Four days ago I was praying in my house about this same time, three o’clock in the afternoon. Suddenly, a man in dazzling clothes was standing in front of me. He told me, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your gifts to the poor have been noticed by God! So I sent for you at once, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here, waiting before God to hear the message the Lord has given you.” Then Peter replied, “I see very clearly that God shows no favoritism. In every nation he accepts those who fear him and do what is right. This is the message of Good News for the people of Israel—that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. (Acts 10:28‭-‬31‭, ‬33‭-‬36 NLT)

Wood, Hay and Straw - NEVER; Gold, Silver and Precious Stones - Our Motivation ALWAYS!

When our motivation is wrong, then our actions, no matter how good the outcome, will come to nothing.

If we serve with the intention of being seen and recognized, then our motivation is misplaced. Even though others may have been helped by our ministry, the result will be lacking as the foundation laid out of wrong motivations is made of wood, hay and straw. This foundation cannot withstand the test, because when it passes through the fire it will burn away.

Yes, there will be trials in life (sickness, disease, hurt, betrayal, divorce, etc), that will test our faith. If the foundation hasn't been laid by making Jesus Christ the foundation in which faith is derived, then our faith will not hold, but be destroyed during times of difficulty.

However, we who serve others must not be the light, no, we are only to point to The Light, having our only motivation and intentions be to build upon the true foundation, which is Jesus Christ, with gold, silver and precious stones...those things that can withstand the fire. It is our motivation to not be seen, recognized or lifted up to be anything other than servants of The Most High God.

It's quick and easy to lay wood, hay and straw, but it takes much more skill, effort and time to build with gold, silver and precious stones. May those who serve take the time in prayer, study, meditation and dedication to build those up to whom you have been sent to minister to with those things that shall last.

"According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire." (1 Corinthians 3:10‭-‬15 NKJV)

Attitude

Attitude - Attitude is the result of how I think and then feel about myself, people, circumstances and God. Because of Christ in my life, attitude is a choice and I choose to have an attitude of gratitude!

My attitude when issues come my way - We must not only look to God, but look for God.

My attitude when I slip up and fall back into sin - We must depend upon God to work deliverance for us in due time.

My attitude when I'm not physically, spiritually or mentally fit - Be patient under affliction and trust in The Lord, listening to Him and not to those who question your faith journey and Calling from God.

My attitude towards the Adversary when he attempts to place doubt, fear and confusion in my life, celebrating my missteps and mistakes - God chastens those who He loves. He will correct and restore me.

Scriptures speak of the attitude that Christians should have in times of despair and under heavy burdens:

"Do not rejoice over me, my enemy; When I fall, I will arise; When I sit in darkness, The Lord  will  be a light to me." (Mic 7:8 NKJV)

This teaching is good and beneficial for everyone!

When God our Savior revealed His kindness and love, He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.  He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of His grace He declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying, and I want you to insist on these teachings so that all who trust in God will devote themselves to doing good. These teachings are good and beneficial for everyone. (Titus 3:4‭-‬8 NLT)

True Love Takes True Strength

Jesus says that we are to love one another/our neighbors as we love ourselves. Some would think that this commandment is an easy one. Hmmmm, let's talk about this.

   • love can hurt
   • love can make you sick
   • love can make you cry
   • love can break your heart
   • love can be mistreated
   • love can be misrepresented
   • love can be betrayed
   • love can cause you to lose your mind
   • love will take your appetite
   • love can cause you to lose your sleep
   • love will sometimes walk away
   • love can grieve you

To love another/your neighbor as much as yourself takes STRENGTH!

So, don't come at me with how tough you are, how bad you are or how physically strong you may think you are. If you want to impress or be impressive, I dare you to show some TRUE STRENGTH and love someone!

It takes a strong person to love the one who is resembling everything that you are not, but true love will overlook, overshadow and overcome if you can just be strong through it all.

"The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. Most important of all, continue to show DEEP LOVE for each other, for LOVE covers a multitude of sins." (1 Peter 4:7‭-‬8 NLT)

The church vs. Being The Church

Part of learning to be a good follower of Jesus means to learn how to get along with others. Going to church isn't just about being right, but it's about learning to be kind and having love and consideration for others.

Just because you may be Saved doesn't give you a license to be unkind to those who aren't. Stop turning away from those who are not like you, they are our ministry assignment. Quit avoiding certain neighborhoods, they are our mission field. Open your eyes so that you can see the families who need assistance because you must know that you are blessed so that you may be a blessing to someone else. Open your minds so that you can place those who need to know Christ on your mind and in your prayers.

The church needs to behave in a way that would not negatively impact other people! Now, that's church, not just a building but people who love their neighbors as they love themselves.

There is a place (church) that we go to to worship, become equipped with the Word of God and to be encouraged to apply what we've received. Then there is the living out our faith and convictions, where we seek those God has equipped and sent us out to reach, those that God has given an answer to their prayers in the form of YOU and those who we are to love because we ourselves are loved...this is what "Being The Church" is, Christ, the head of the church manifested through you, His Church sent out in the world to tell of the Good News!

Don't just go to church - BE THE CHURCH!

Early Morning Imagination - Why Me?

It's in the early morning hours that I oftentimes, over coffee and scripture, allow myself to imagine.

This morning's drifting thoughts was about: "Why me?" Having asked myself this question, I had to think about what was it that Jesus saw in me. It's awesome to know that Jesus doesn't see us as we are, but He sees us for what we will be!

First we must know that Jesus can handle our mess; as a matter of fact, He already has on The Cross of Calvary. He can see beyond our nasty, ugly, prideful, addicted, lustful, lying, cheating, stealing, adulterous, bigoted and  conceited behaviors. He knows that is the devil’s work.

So, don't think that you're disqualified because of some "stuff" in your life right now, because I'm here to tell you that I too, had some "stuff" and still have some "stuff" in my life, but Jesus can, does and will see us through the "stuff" and He helps us to become who we've been created to be!

When Jesus' eyes rested on you, He saw you as you are in reality, that is, as you appear, at all times, before God. Jesus sees beyond our "now" and sees our tomorrows.

"Why me?", the answer is simply because God loves me...AND HE LOVES YOU TOO!

May you imagine greater. Greater has no limitations in Christ Jesus. Aim for the heavenly because Jesus already sees you there, don't prove Him wrong by rejecting His Gift of Salvation. Today IS your day to not only imagine, but to BECOME  part of The Beloved!

Don't think you know, KNOW you know!

God is not impressed or depressed by our social status; be it economical or political. Ha, God isn't especially interested in our social media and networking status! However,  God is impressed that YOU KNOW HIM and also know that He is DEPRESSED when WE DON'T KNOW HIM.

Don't think you know, KNOW you know!

Peter said, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." (Matthew 16:16‭ KJV)

Repent - Repenting is the beginning not the end of the matter!

The call of the church, a Christ centered church, is to repent. However, the call to repent is not a matter of "repent before it's too late," but it's a matter of "live according to the identity you have been given and for the purpose for which you were created"!

You must not see repentance as giving up, surrendering and turning it all over to God as something final or completed. No, repentance is truly the beginning of living the life that you were created and purposed to live!

Repent and start living, RIGHT NOW!!

Keep Moving

We can't erase our past or have "do overs". We can't take back our words or actions that may have offended someone. No matter how hard it may seem, we must know that we need to move on from there! No amount of time spent in those dark places, wishing and hoping that things were different, will actually make things different or better.

In order to make things different and in order to make things right, we need to keep moving, always striving to do better, striving to treat people better and striving to live life better. Wallowing in our mistakes and missteps only allows us to remain burdened and in a dark place.

Some will be able to do this, while there may be some that require our help to move past some things. Are you willing to reach out your hand to extend grace to those who need our help to keep on moving?

I'm willing to extend grace to those who want to move on to a life that will lead to salvation. C'mon, let's move on...together!

For my brothers and sisters in Christ

God's favor surrounds us like a shield. We can be talked about, laughed at and even if you try to attack us with bad thoughts, rumors and accusations. NONE of these can pierce God's shield of favor over our life. The shield protects us and God's favor keeps us!

Hallelujah and Amen!

Get Up!

On many occasions, during the night when all is quiet, thoughts begin to creep into our mind that is contrary to God's plan and purpose for our lives. These thoughts and inclinations are from the very pit of Hell. Do not let yourself be persuaded by these lies, they will only prevent you and I from living the life that God has purposed for us to live.

Understand that you have authority over these mind/head games that the devil is attacking you and I with.

I have come to know that on most days, success begins with simply willing yourself to get up, get out of bed and engage this thing called life. You see, the enemy would rather you stay afraid and hiding undercover trying to deal with the evil that has been planted in our heads. Again, lies!

Get up and cast down these things! Our getting up and our believing God's Word over the suggestions of the devil is our victory!

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:3‭-‬5 KJV)

Powerfully Stand in Victory Today!

The same Power that raised Jesus from the grave; the same Power that calmed a raging sea; the same Power that healed the blind, the lame, the sick, the deaf; and the same Power that restores, that salvages, and confirms us as children of the Most High...LIVES IN ME AND LIVES IN YOU!

I'm Committed - Although I Was the Worst of YOU ALL!

If there was a way of doing something wrong, I found it. If there was a way to speak words that hurt, I was an expert at it. If there was a way to ruin relationships and tear families apart, I have succeeded!

However, I've come to KNOW that God is so much bigger than my evil ways and God's purpose truly trumps the plans of the devil.

I recognize that I should have been disqualified to preach, teach and reach others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. However, God changed my heart and turned my wrong living into right living! He turned my negative energy into POSITIVE POWER!

Because of my sins, I will still suffer the consequences because God’s Calling doesnt come with a "Cruise Through Life Pass".

However, when we are truly committed to God, His Word and His purpose for our lives, we have a contentment that overtakes our sufferings. Why are we content? Because those who truly have placed their hope, faith and love in God know that this life and its sufferings are temporary and that the eternal will replace the temporary.

So lean forward, stay the course and press onward my brothers and my sisters!

God’s calling isn't a Call to comfort, but it is a Call to Commitment.

God Called me in spite of how I use to behave and He is using me to tell you that if He can Save me, then you too can be Saved!

I'm Committed! How about you?

But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.  I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.” (Acts 9:15‭-‬16 NIV)

I'm Not Tired!

Do I get tired or overburdened posting every day? Of course not!  When you live by your own strength, you will be depleted in a very short time. When you live for God, He renews your strength.

"He gives power to the weak, And to those  who  have no might He increases strength." (Isaiah 40:29 NKJV)

Special Devils?

We often hear of the troubles of others in such a way that they would want for us to somehow believe that what they are facing is so much different and so much bigger than anything and everything that any of us has had to contend with.

Their struggles are deeper, darker and longer...their enemies are stronger, more persistent and more  unyielding than those you and I face. But let me tell you, you haven't been assigned  "Special Devils".

The same devils you are facing, we are all facing. A Nickel Bag to you is still a Nickel Bag to others! The difference is that you have not taken control of the desires of your flesh; where you yield and surrender to drugs, others simply deny it's hold over them. Same devil, but different approaches.

The Bible says that there is a great cloud of witnesses that have already survived the attacks of the devil. What makes your fight so much more difficult? With God all things are possible, don't give the devil so much credit.  Also remember, that the devil that you're fighting doesn't stand a chance. He lost back then and He'll lose again today. As a matter of fact, if we look back over our lives, we will see that the only victories that the devil has had, are those we allowed him to have.

You still think that you have "Special Devils"? ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE TO YOU A "SPECIAL SAVIOR". I CALL HIM LORD. HE IS THE ANOINTED ONE, KING OF KINGS!!

Today, know that we no longer have to lose because Jesus has already won!

In the Same Way...

We really can be hard on one another in life. We place unnecessary and overwhelming weight on others to act, react, live and exist the way we want them to. Guess what, it's not up for discussion or discretion by you or by me. Be very careful how you treat others, because "IN THE SAME WAY", you will be judged!

Can you withstand the weight of your very own judgement that you place on others? I doubt it! So, STOP IT!

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.  For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." (Matthew 7:1‭-‬2 NIV)

You Ready?

You've got the strategy, but do you have the attitude, confidence and faith to carry it out? God's Word confirms your Call and equips you for the task.

And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing; but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it—lest you even be found to fight against God.” If God be for us, who can be against us?  (Acts 5:38‭-‬39 NKJV; Romans 8:31b KJV)

Adjustments

It's Alright to Grow. It's Natural and Expected, both Physically and Spiritually.

There comes a time when we NEED to make adjustments. It's not you being difficult, it's you growing up and growing out of some things that are no longer beneficial for the season of life that you are in.

Own it and Win or Deny it and Lose!

What's your Sin Interest? Don't be bashful or secretive. You know what it is, the devil knows what it is and most likely your family already knows what it is.

God also knows what it is and He wants to rid you from it, take you out of it, pull you away from it and deliver you totally!

Will you give it over to Him and let Him save you? Don’t tell me what you Sin Interest is, tell God. I can't save you but He will.

I DID!!

The God I serve cares for everyone!

He cares for the Sinner as much as He cares for the Saint; He cares for those who reject Him as much as He cares for the Repentant; He cares for the innocent as much as He cares for the Incarcerated; He cares for those who acknowledges who He is and He also cares for the Addict.

The question today is, do you care as much for yourself to give all that you are (sinner or saint, rejecting or Repentant, innocent or incarcerated, an acknowledger or an addict), to God?

I DID!!!

You will Seek Me and Find Me, when you Search for Me will ALL YOUR HEART!

We get as much of God as we go after! If you're not experiencing God, then maybe you haven't sought God.

“Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.” (Jeremiah 29:12-14 NKJV)

God Provides and God Sustains

“It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’"  (Matthew 4:4 NKJV)

People are losing their identity, jobs, friendships, loved ones and families in their pursuit to find something to feed their craving of the flesh. Today let your search be over. Everything that you will ever need God shall provide it. He will sustain you through life's struggles and put you in position for life's greatest moments.

Let us not lose another classmate, friend, brother or sister to addiction. Being addicted to something that is known to destroy you is hard to understand, but it happens each and every day.

Let us be intentional by feeding those in our lives The Bread of Life, Jesus Christ. He will conquer all of their demons, He will break every Stronghold and He will free them from their dependency of the life stealing substances that has them imprisoned.

What is NEEDED can't be found in a needle.

‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

FEED THEM!

Feed 'em! Don't rule over them. Don't take advantage of them. Don't belittle them. Don't gossip concerning them. Don't judge them. Don't turn away from them...FEED THEM!

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”  “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”   Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”  He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.”   The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”  Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep." (John 21:15‭-‬17 NIV)

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Trust God for a second (third, forth, fifth, sixth and seventh) chance! Forgiveness has no limitations. However, don't put off for tomorrow that which you can have today. Tomorrow is not guaranteed to you or to me.

Today, I'm here to tell you that I've gone way beyond several chances, yet God still loves me, forgives me and extends grace and mercy to me each day!

“Great is Thy faithfulness!”
“Great is Thy faithfulness!”
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided— “Great is Thy faithfulness,” Lord, unto me!

Alignment

There's a lot of people with positive words that are living negative lives. The only way our words and actions align is through faith, prayer and obedience to The Lord.

Lord Almighty, help us, so that the words that we speak align with how we are living our lives. In The name of Jesus, Amen.

Tuesday, July 26, 2016

Let the church say Amen!

God's Grace and Mercy - Mercy is God NOT giving us what we do deserve; Grace is God giving us something we DO NOT deserve.

You STILL don't understand Grace and Mercy? Let me tell you what it means to me: "Jesus paid the price for my life, all that was wrong, His love has made right!"

You see because of His Mercy, what should have been my outcome, because of the way I lived my life, didn't happen! But because of His Grace, He has placed Himself in me to do and to speak marvelous things to this world!

So please understand that I serve a Mighty God and for this reason alone, I shall boldly, continually and eternally preach, teach and reach IN HIS NAME!

Let the church say Amen!

Those who have an ear to hear, let them hear!

Not everyone is waking up feeling excited. Not everyone is springing out of the bed with great joy. Nor is everyone looking forward to this week or even this day because some are facing life's challenges and their decisions are being formed by the limited choices that are available for them.

The Bible tells us that Mary felt like her decisions were formed by the limited choices made available to her based on her current situation (pregnant and not married). She felt shunned and afraid of those in her life, so much so that she was to go into hiding. However, God was in complete control.

You see, when we can only see limited choices and even those don't look good, we must know that God's got us! God showed Mary a miracle that was being experienced by someone else (Elizabeth), so that she may know that God could do anything. Then Mary was encouraged when she was told that, "The Holy will come upon you, and overshadow you."

It's time to pray. It's time to have faith. It's time to believe God again. Look around, God's showing you those in your life that has been the recipient of miracles. Like Mary and Elizabeth, we have to know that, "For with God nothing will be impossible.” (Luke 1:37 NKJV)

My brothers and sisters be encouraged, the Holy Spirit will come upon you and overshadow you when you give it all to God. Trust, have faith and believe God and watch the impossible become possible!

Influence

What kind of influence are you having with those you are spending time with? This morning while looking through old pictures on my phone, I was reminded by my daughter's pic of her chalkboard.

May we all look back over our lives and find those positive influences that you have made with others. Have a great weekend!

Leave IT alone
Leave HER alone

Step off, Adios, Move on and SAY GOODBYE!

UNCONDITIONAL LOVE is the Love that Heals!

The more a person is hurt and not healed, the more that person will hurt other people.

May we be the difference in someone's life today by simply loving them UNCONDITIONALLY so that they may love others.

Have a Great Week!

Approaching the week ahead: Know that God's people are to be bighearted and courteous. Titus 3 gives us a few pointers: Respect the government and be law-abiding, always ready to lend a helping hand, No insults, No fights, Don't be stupid or stubborn, Don't walk around with a chip on our shoulder, hated and hating back. Stay away from mindless, pointless quarreling...All of this gets us nowhere!

Have a great week!

Fear

Don't fear what they fear...do not be frightened. The reality is that we are not on this Earth without a covenant!

Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats ; do not be frightened.”  But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. For it is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. (1 Peter 3:13‭-‬17 NIV)

Endure

Can't sense God? Still have faith that God knows exactly where you are and is working all your days together for Your good.

But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold. (Job 23:10 KJV)

NOW

I declare that your faith, trust and patience shall open not just "a door", but "THE DOOR" that you have been praying for and that you have been made ready to walk into. There was a reason for the delay. The reason was that it was not yet your season.

NOW is the time for you to stand and proclaim what has been placed in your spirit without fear of those who would criticize you, discredit you or doubt you. The Lord has Called YOU to speak His Word!

"Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” (Acts 4:29‭-‬30 NIV)

Calm Down

There are those of us who are oftentimes agitated by the way life appears to be playing out "right now". I've got something to tell you if you are one who is feeling agitation, anxiousness, frustration or something other than content...it's only temporary!

Calm down, nothing lasts forever. Stop fueling negativity. Quit harboring bad thoughts. Discover faith and trust and no longer seek luck. Get this, luck is fleeting. Have faith and you'll be blessed for all eternity.

Calm down, stop trippin and watch God be God in your situation. He'll do it; He'll bring you through it...if you call on Him.

"No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it." (1 Corinthians 10:13 MSG)

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Reflection on Acts 3:16

Just for clarity, I do and will get sick. I will suffer the diseases of this life in one way or another. But one thing that is for certain, my soul has been completely and utterly healed. My fallen state, which is the same of every man born of woman, has been restored. My healing is evident in my salvation.

Wednesday, June 22, 2016

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Hallelujah Anyhow!

Some days I feel that I don't have a Praise, but God's Word let's me know that every day I have a Promise! Therefore, when I feel that I'm having one of those days where I don't feel like Praising, I'm reminded of His Promise and guess what happens when I see my Promise in His Holy Word? I get my Praise back!

So, no matter how I may feel about Praising on today, I have a Promise and because of His Promise, I have not only a Praise, but it is the highest Praise that I shall give to Him...HALLELUJAH and in the face of the enemy I say HALLELUJAH ANYHOW!

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Do You Still Hold Fast Your Integrity?

The story of Job brings again the question that has been asked over and over, "Why does bad things happen to good people?"

In the Gospel of John, Jesus answers this question when His disciples asked Him about a man born blind,  “Rabbi, why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?” “It was NOT because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. (John 9:2,3)

Job and the man born blind are two examples of those who have been afflicted seemingly without cause. However, in their afflictions and in ours we must stand on the Word of God, trusting Him and when we're faced with all of the trials and tribulations thrown on us, we must strive to remain blameless and upright. It is the Devils effort to tear away our integrity with his onslaught of loss, pain and sickness so that he may draw us into sin.

Yes, sometimes good men and women are afflicted, but in Christ Jesus they are never defeated! Hallelujah!

God basically says to Satan concerning Job, "Try as you might devil, your efforts will come to no effect and will accomplish no purpose, for you are not able to take away his integrity, in spite of your malicious evil intent...he STILL HOLDS FAST HIS INTEGRITY!"

Today, may we have the integrity to stand against the work of Satan in our lives and in the lives of others.

Today, may we find praise in knowing that no matter what Satan has planned for the people of God, that God has already placed limitations on the Devils activities concerning God's people. Know if God did not chain up the roaring lion, that we would soon be devoured by him. Being that you're reading this message, know that the devil has been losing his battle for your integrity, that you have not been devoured by the roaring lion and that in Christ Jesus, YOU CAN STILL HOLD FAST YOUR INTEGRITY!

Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil. And he has maintained his integrity, even though you urged me to harm him without cause.” (Job 2:3 NLT)

Excerpt from my Father’s Day Bible Study at Prison Ministry

On this past Father's Day weekend, I would like to point out how Job cared about his children's spiritual welfare.  He cared so deeply that he offered individual sacrifices on their behalf in case they doubted, ignored, or dishonored God.

In case we think it's tough to get up early and pray blessing on our kids before they start their day, it would do us well to consider what Job did every day.  He had to offer a bull as a burnt offering - kill it, skin it, and sacrifice it - for each one of his sons.

Boston University conducted a study in which fathers were told to estimate how much "meaningful" time they spent with their children on a daily basis.  The average father said he spent between 45 and 50 minutes a day in "meaningful" time with his kids either individually or collectively.  But video cameras and microphones revealed that the actual time the average father spent in "meaningful" interaction with each of his kids on any given day was 38 seconds!

We might think we're good dads.  But perhaps we can do better by following the example of Job - sacrificing our morning cup of coffee or internet surfing if necessary, getting up a great while before morning if that's what it takes to say, "Lord, bless Keith Jr.; Keep Your hand on Kyle and; Anoint Kaelyn; and Embrace my wife Kimberly"

“There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.

And his sons would go and feast in their houses, each on his appointed day, and would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. So it was, when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly.” (Job 1:1, 4-5 NKJV)

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - ENOUGH!

Enough is Enough! Today kick the enemy our of your life, family, home, job and your destiny! Do it now, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

“Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” (Matthew 16:23 NKJV)

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - We're Doing it Wrong!

We are way to focused on EVERYTHING that we see going on around us. So much so that we won't take our mind off of certain things. In other words, we worry...excessively!

Family, "We're Doing it Wrong"! Many of us are walking by sight and not by faith. God's Word clearly says that those who belong to God has to turn this thing around..."For we walk by faith, not by sight." (II Corinthians 5:7 NKJV)

Wednesday, June 15, 2016

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Because of Christ Jesus, God Always Hears Our Prayers!

Yes that's right, each and every one of our prayers are heard from God. However, God says there are prayers that are heard but with a strong dislike: "If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable." (Proverbs 28:9 NIV)

I praise God that because of Jesus Saving me and for Jesus being my advocate in Heaven, that my prayers are a sweet aroma unto the Lord, pleasing and welcomed.

We must acknowledge the one and only reason that we are able to praise God: The Cross.  Because of what Jesus did we can praise God, be heard of God.... We are freed from sins and will dwell with the Lord forever.  Therefore, we praise His name.

"Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what He did for me. For I cried out to Him for help, praising Him as I spoke. If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw His unfailing love from me." (Psalms 66:16‭-‬20 NLT)

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Jesus Got This.. If You Give It to Him!

Dear Lord, many prayer requests spanning pending births, illness, disease, job opportunities and the care of our elderly parents.  You know our situations before we speak them. I pray against the noise of this world and will stand on Your Word that You have given me on this day:

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” (Romans 12:12 NIV)

Now, be with me, be in me and guide me all the day long. Amen.

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - HELP SOMEBODY - It's the Greater Good and it's in you!

In order to tap into the Greater Good, we must know what the Greater Good is. I don't have a text book definition, but I do have the Spirit's revelation as to what the Greater Good means to me. As I understand it and believe in it; I'm convinced that the Holy Spirit, whom Jesus promised to those who believe in Him, lives in me.

Therefore, to describe the Greater Good is to describe Him that is already in you. So, to tap into the Greater Good is to yield to the calling and guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Greater Good for me means that I am to have, and I am to share: Gratitude, Compassion, Forgiveness, Mindfulness, Purpose and Love.

To be true to our Calling, we should resemble The One who Called us. If we are truly following the unction of The Spirit, we would engage others differently than the world engages them. To truly appreciate God's love for His creation, we must be willing to see beyond race, ethnicity and socioeconomic statuses loving all of God's people and yes, showing love also to those who are our enemies. To truly operate in the Greater Good, we must first embrace The Great One who is always with us!

Paul says it like this: "If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if His love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care — then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirited friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand." (Philippians 2:1‭-‬4 MSG)

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Self Pride

“Put your sword back in its place,”
Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. (Matthew 26:52 NIV)

We have our weakest moments  when we boldly feel our strongest!  Personal pride is dangerous and something we should be prayerful about.  Self pride makes us weak. Self pride neglects the wellbeing of others. Self pride in and of itself is selfishness and Self pride can cause us to neglect our prayer life!

Jesus is always cleaning up the messes we make with our self pride. Overreacting, fast reacting, putting ourselves ahead of Jesus!

Today, "Put your sword back in its place" - "Stop trippin', Chill out, Relax, Let go and Let God"!!!

God is in full control and He knows what's best for each and everyone of us! Amen?

Amen!

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Deception vs Truth - Which is Winning?

Look no further than your "Entertainment Center" in your home. Big screen high definition televisions. Wireless/Bluetooth streaming music and videos and of course the boom of Smartphones and their millions of applications. There are so many "Go To" sources available to us on how we should or can live our lives. There are so many influences that we are having to discern every day. How easily is our one source/sure source of Truth, The Holy Scripture, The Bible drowned out.

Have we has lost the ability to think and reason effectively? Have we truly lost sight of the way to peace and happiness. Both our past and present history, and lifestyles indicate a record of struggle in the battle of good vs evil; right decisions vs wrong decisios; healthy relationships vs perverted; and sobriety vs intoxication.

What is the deception of the ages? And how does it affect our present day? Well, I'll just say this, the deceptions are many and have morphed with the times and have trapped, fooled and confused many. However, the Deceiver is the same, Lucifer aka Satan.

The result is that we now live in a world where we face a clash of values having to do with the questions of what is sin and who is in charge of this earth.

Until we all come to terms with God’s Word which is God’s Law, we will continue to struggle in the battle of the ages with Satan’s deception that we can decide for ourselves what is good and what is evil. We need to understand that we can and do "justify" many things as "alright", yet we have not consulted God in prayer or God's Word concerning the same.

God's Word speaks to the confusion that this deception has and is causing not only in the world, but also the confusion that is rampant in the church in regards to my own United Methodist Church woes in this current day.

Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"

Deception will continue until The Truth returns. Truth shall surely have the ultimate and final victory, but we can have victory today! Get God's Word. Study God's Word. Pray God's Word. Believe God's Word.

Doing so will reveal God's Truth for our lives. I pray that we are no longer deceived and that God will expose the Deceiver so that you may deny Satan and be free!

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Not Hindered

I am who He says I am. I can do what He's created me to do. I speak truth about what is being spoken in the Spiritual so that we will recognize the lies that are present in the natural. I'm not ashamed, embarrassed or hindered by living out my faith statement of believing and trusting and loving Jesus The Christ , who is both my Lord and my Savior.

Although I mess up. Although I'm not perfect. Although I don't say it right all of the time or get it right or live it right or even post it right everytime...I'm STILL Saved and His Spirit lives in me!

For this reason, I can live my life to the FULL! Not everyone will agree, but the truth of the matter is, that God isn't seeking anyone's approval/buy-in, Jesus has already paid the price for me...IN FULL!

So, watch me live out loud, bold, excited and with exceeding joy. There's absolutely nothing that can hinder me! GLORY! HALLELUJAH! AMEN.

Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is , there is  liberty. (II Corinthians 3:17 NKJV)

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Wheat and Weeds

Know this, God’s Kingdom will continue exist and to grow in the midst of; among; and right next to that which is evil. However, there will come a time when Good and Evil will be separated. When the sorting begins, which side will claim your name, the Wheat or Weeds?

Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.  But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away.  When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. “The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’ “ ‘An enemy did this,’ he replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’ “ ‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them.  Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’

”Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”  He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man.  The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one,  and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels. “As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.  The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil.  They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear. (Matthew 13:24‭-‬30‭, ‬36‭-‬43 NIV)

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil."

Child of God, Stop your complaining and quit your whining. God still has you!

Why would you ever complain, O Jacob, or, whine, Israel, saying, “ God has lost track of me. He doesn’t care what happens to me”? Don’t you know anything? Haven’t you been listening? God doesn’t come and go. God lasts. He’s Creator of all you can see or imagine. He doesn’t get tired out, doesn’t pause to catch his breath. And he knows everything, inside and out. He energizes those who get tired, gives fresh strength to dropouts. For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon God get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, They run and don’t get tired, they walk and don’t lag behind. (Isaiah 40:27‭-‬31 MSG)

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Like Father, Like Son!

You have to know that those who believe, trust and love The Lord are fully covered, fully protected and completely safe in the hands of God.

Yes, you're in good hands when you are in God’s Hands. Let me ask you this, "Who's got your back on today and for all of your tomorrows?" If not God then who is it that you trust with you?

God says:
‘Now see that I, even I, am He, And there  is no God besides Me; I kill and I make alive; I wound and I heal; Nor is  there  any who can deliver from My hand. (Deuteronomy 32:39 NKJV)

The Son of God says:
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.  I and My Father are one.” (John 10:28‭-‬30 NKJV)

I say: "AMEN!"

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Remember, Jesus is ALWAYS with you and is the ONLY One who can help you!

During our noontime Bible study yesterday, we talked about Hope and Grace. I shared that although we start out with good intentions, sometimes our faith falters. When this happens, we tend to place tons of guilt on ourselves, and when we do that, we move further away from God because of our self-imposed guilt and unworthiness.

Know this, just because we messed up, it doesn't necessarily mean that we've failed. When Peter's faith wavered, he reached out for Jesus. Yes, he was afraid. Yes, he doubted. Yes, he took his eyes off of Christ and instead, he looked at his situation. But again, HE REACHED OUT FOR JESUS!

You see, although we are lured away by life events, although we may have taken our eyes off of Jesus for some time, although we haven't been to church in a while and although we have become doubtful, I need for us to know that we, just like Peter, can REACH OUT FOR JESUS!

When you become apprehensive about troubles all around you and doubt Christ's presence or ability to help, remember that He is ALWAYS with you and is the ONLY One who can really help!

Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:31 NIV)

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Why You KEEP Falling!!

Spiritual blindness is caused by spiritual stubbornness and spiritual lethargy; and by being spiritually numb and hard-hearted. All of these things are just the very tip of the iceberg when we see the influential affects of the devil’s activities in and through God's creation.

The devil himself is headed straight for a pit. Why then do we still follow his ways and those who are influenced by him? You want to know why things aren't going well with you and why it seems that you can never climb out of the hole, traps and devices that keep you from succeeding? Well, it's simple. Look at who you have chosen to follow!

Yes, YOU CHOSE to be led astray; YOU CHOSE to harden your heart to the warnings and blessings of God's Word. YOU CHOSE the pit and refused The Palace. Yes, YOU CHOSE to follow the blind and now you have been blinded.

OPEN YOUR HEART AND HAVE YOUR EYES REGAIN SIGHT! Look to and follow Jesus. If you do, you'll never fall victim of the pit that you seem to never be able to escape!

Jesus says, "If a blind man leads a blind man, both will fall into a pit." (Matthew 15:14)

I once was blind but now I see...AMAZING GRACE is truly amazing when you "see" that AMAZING GRACE extends to you, even right now. That is what makes grace so AMAZING!

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - What the devil meant for evil God will turn around for your good!

Haha! BAM!! How ya like me now?

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. (Genesis 50:20 NIV)

This is how Joseph must have felt when his own brothers tried to do him in...his very own family! They lied on him and they lied to him. They threw him in a pit and they sold him into slavery. Potiphar's wife hurled false accusations and the cupbearer forgot about him.

Jesus cancels the work and activities of the devil. Jesus staight X's out the devil’s mess!

As He (Jesus) went along, He saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”   “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. (John 9:1‭-‬3 NIV)

Now when Jesus returned, a crowd welcomed Him, for they were all expecting Him. Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader, came and fell at Jesus’ feet, pleading with Him to come to his house because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying....Someone came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” he said. “Don’t bother the teacher anymore.”  Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”   When He arrived at the house of Jairus, He did not let anyone go in with Him except Peter, John and James, and the child’s father and mother. Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.” He took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!”  Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat. Her parents were astonished, but He ordered them not to tell anyone what had happened. (Luke 8:40‭-‬42‭, ‬49‭-‬52‭, ‬54‭-‬56 NIV)

As He approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, His heart went out to her and He said, “Don’t cry.”   Then He went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!”  The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. (Luke 7:12‭-‬15 NIV)

So the sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.”  When He heard this, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” (John 11:3‭-‬4 NIV)

Do you trust Him enough to wait faithfully for Him to bring you out? Do you believe that He can make a good thing out of a bad situation? You can trust Him because, as Joseph, the man born blind, Jairus, the widow and Martha/Mary & Lazarus learned that God can and does overrule and override the schemes and plots of our enemy, Satan. Trust that God in Chist Jesus has already defeated evil and He will have His intended results in the lives who are surrendered to Him!

Talk about me, lie on me, laugh at me and even shun me...it's alright! What you meant for evil, watch God turn it around!

Haha! BAM!! How ya like me now?

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Jesus, what sign will signal your return?

As Jesus was leaving the Temple grounds, his disciples pointed out to him the various Temple buildings. But He responded, “Do you see all these buildings? I tell you the truth, they will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!” Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives. His disciples came to Him privately and said, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will signal your return and the end of the world? ” Jesus told them, “Don’t let anyone mislead you,  for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’ They will deceive many.  And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately.  Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world.  But all this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come. (Matthew 24:1‭-‬8 NLT)

The signs have begun. Are you Saved? You still have a chance today. Don't let salvation slip away, grab hold of it right now!

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Ready to Quit Playing?

"Playing", in this context refers to our continuous dabbling in sin. Why have we set our minds on the notion that "it is what it is", when it's really not, we just have come to a point in our lives that we accept sin and sinfulness as something that is normal, expected and tolerated. How sad is it that we have literally given up and given in to the evil one? How pitiful we have become to accept his onslaught of identity theft - getting us to become counterfeits of who we were created to be; accepting his lies about our worthiness to be loved by an all loving God; having us fooled into believing that there's nothing better for us, to accept the minimum because you don't qualify for anything more!

Know this simple but powerful truth: "Resist the devil and he will flee" (James 4:7). Sin is not inevitable, Jesus defeated sin so that we may overcome sin.

We need to stop playing! We need to stop wasting our time by making light out our sin. Have we really gotten to a point to where nothing upsets us? Can we continue to look at our addictions, anger issues, cheating hearts, lustful actions, greedy attitudes and conceited behaviors with blinded eyes?

Sin should cause us to mourn, grieve and cry out loud! We are failing to see the depth of the harm that we are doing to ourselves, our families, our communities and to the very heart of God when we not only act the way we do, but also when we accept behavior that is contrary to what God has created and purposed us to be.

Play time is over. It's time to get serious!

"So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet." (James 4:7‭-‬10 MSG)

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - "Come and STAND in Front of Everyone"

Let us focus for a moment on the emotions that were and still are aroused by the power of Jesus in action! Yes, when Jesus steps in, He demonstrates His love, grace, favor and mercy with awesome acts of POWER!

In The Gospel of Mark, chapter 3:1-5, we see Jesus being Jesus in front of those who criticized Him, those who were a threat to Him, those who dispised Him and those who would do harm to Him...but here is our Lord standing boldly and powerfully in the company of His enemies to show Himself strong and mighty for the person who has an issue...a person who is in need of help.

You see, Jesus knows all and sees all. He spoke to this man by saying, "Come and stand in front of everyone." (Mark 3:3) Jesus then challenged the naysayers on their legalism by questioning the law by asking if it was permissible to do good deeds on the Sabbath or is it a day for doing evil? You see, when Jesus steps in, He's not concerned with those who are ignorant of His authority. He is not put off by non-believers or by their thoughts towards Him. He doesn't operate in hiding or in seclusion but right out in front of it all..."Come and stand in front of everyone."

When you call on the name of Jesus, He'll call you to "Come and stand in front of everyone." He will do a Mighty work in front of your enemies, in front of your community, in front of your home boys and girlfriends, in the face of addiction, in spite of your past and even in the face of your own feeling of unworthiness! He will overcome your physical, emotional and societal afflictions with power and might. He will restore you in the power of His love and compassion that He has for you!

There are no special days in which this will occur and there is no legal authorities that can prevent Jesus from calling you to "Come and stand in front of everyone."...TODAY is the day that The Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it! TODAY was made for you to be restored and made whole, regardless of who doesn't like it!!

Jesus went into the synagogue again and noticed a man with a deformed hand. Since it was the Sabbath, Jesus’ enemies watched him closely. If he healed the man’s hand, they planned to accuse him of working on the Sabbath. Jesus said to the man with the deformed hand, “Come and stand in front of everyone.”  Then he turned to his critics and asked, “Does the law permit good deeds on the Sabbath, or is it a day for doing evil? Is this a day to save life or to destroy it?” But they wouldn’t answer him. He looked around at them angrily and was deeply saddened by their hard hearts. Then he said to the man, “Hold out your hand.” So the man held out his hand, and it was restored! (Mark 3:1‭-‬5 NLT)

"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Hear and Heed

We all have been given instructions before and we have all learned the meaning of consequences. Don't play with fire or you will get burned. Don't stick objects into electrical outlets because doing so can electrocute you.

We've even heard and heeded to some of the most silliest things - superstitious sayings: Don't split the pole, don't walk under a ladder, beware of black cats that cross your path and if you step on a crack you will break your mother's back! The silliness is when we go out of our way to avoid these things because somebody told us that it was bad luck and we believed them. Sillier still is that some of us still believe that superstitions are believable.

However, when we hear the sayings of Jesus, we are not convinced. We think that what Jesus has to say doesn't apply to our lives, that we are the central figure and in control of everything - self-sustaining and that we are not in need of a Savior. We dismiss the church, we ignore The Bible, we aren't thankful and we are nowhere near grateful. Try and talk to those around you about what Jesus is saying and watch them all have something else more important to do or watch them all of a sudden have somewhere else that they need to be.

The devil has been busy. He has gotten so many people fooled and confused to the point that if they were to open an umbrella indoors that they would have several years of bad luck (how silly is this?). So, we have become vigilant in avoiding, not only ourselves, but others from opening umbrellas indoors. But, when Jesus speaks life, love, favor, forgiveness of sin, blessings, hope, deliverance and eternal life we feel as though the sharing of these awesome blessings are infringing on our lives. We feel that our space has been violated and we are quick to shut it out and sometimes we have tried to shut it down.

Well, I'm here to tell you that it won't be long before the storms of life come our way. I hope that whatever and whomever you have placed your trust in is not only willing, but also capable to rescue you during the storms of life. I know of One who is more than capable and who is more than willing. Let Him speak to both you and the storm, "peace and be still".

Hear and Heed the Word of God today. Build your hope on Jesus and you will have a sure foundation. Anything or anyone else cannot and will not withstand what's coming!

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” (Matthew 7:24‭-‬27 NKJV)
