"The Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil." - Hear and Heed

We all have been given instructions before and we have all learned the meaning of consequences. Don't play with fire or you will get burned. Don't stick objects into electrical outlets because doing so can electrocute you.

We've even heard and heeded to some of the most silliest things - superstitious sayings: Don't split the pole, don't walk under a ladder, beware of black cats that cross your path and if you step on a crack you will break your mother's back! The silliness is when we go out of our way to avoid these things because somebody told us that it was bad luck and we believed them. Sillier still is that some of us still believe that superstitions are believable.

However, when we hear the sayings of Jesus, we are not convinced. We think that what Jesus has to say doesn't apply to our lives, that we are the central figure and in control of everything - self-sustaining and that we are not in need of a Savior. We dismiss the church, we ignore The Bible, we aren't thankful and we are nowhere near grateful. Try and talk to those around you about what Jesus is saying and watch them all have something else more important to do or watch them all of a sudden have somewhere else that they need to be.

The devil has been busy. He has gotten so many people fooled and confused to the point that if they were to open an umbrella indoors that they would have several years of bad luck (how silly is this?). So, we have become vigilant in avoiding, not only ourselves, but others from opening umbrellas indoors. But, when Jesus speaks life, love, favor, forgiveness of sin, blessings, hope, deliverance and eternal life we feel as though the sharing of these awesome blessings are infringing on our lives. We feel that our space has been violated and we are quick to shut it out and sometimes we have tried to shut it down.

Well, I'm here to tell you that it won't be long before the storms of life come our way. I hope that whatever and whomever you have placed your trust in is not only willing, but also capable to rescue you during the storms of life. I know of One who is more than capable and who is more than willing. Let Him speak to both you and the storm, "peace and be still".

Hear and Heed the Word of God today. Build your hope on Jesus and you will have a sure foundation. Anything or anyone else cannot and will not withstand what's coming!

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” (Matthew 7:24‭-‬27 NKJV)
