JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - It's Time to STEP ON THE SCENE in 2016!!

What is the probability of You, being where you are right now and doing what you are doing in the lives of others; that this was all happenstance?  I would say unlikely. You must know that God has created you specifically for His purpose and His plan both in your life and in the lives of others. It's time that we stop looking to others to do what you are called to do. You were made for this, you are here to do this, there's no one else...it's you, EMBRACE IT!

IT WAS FORESEEN EVEN IN 2015 THAT YOU WOULD STEP ON THE SCENE AND INTERVENE IN 2016!!

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Who or What Has Your Attention?

Quote from the movie Concussion: "The NFL owns a day of the week, the same day that ONCE was owned by the church"

Think about this bold statement...or is it even bold? What have you allowed to replace the Lord's day? What activity? What practice? What is luring you away from the church?

"Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshipped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD. (Joshua 24:14-15 NIV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - CHRIST-mas! "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given" - The Reason for Hope is the reason for the season.

Christmas is not always a festive season for some among us. Many people have a difficult time being festive because they have lost a loved one or they are separated from their family due to incarceration, military duty and some are even homeless.

While you are out and about trying to purchase that special gift, remember those who are in need of the gift of hope in their time of hopelessness.

That hope is that in our times of gloom and despair, we can alleviate our fears and subdue the sorrows that trouble us and seems to never end. You see, we can take comfort in this certainty: although The Lord may not always take us around our troubles, if we follow Him wholeheartedly,  He will lead us safely through them.

May the Christ in you renew the Christmas in them. That is a gift that we all can give and a gift that we all need to receive.

Merry Christmas to you all.

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - The ONE THING

What is it that you are chasing after in life? What are your expectations of what you will receive once you catch up to what you are chasing?

Know this, the object of your pursuit is evident by how you are living your life. If you are pursuing a state of intoxication, then your days and thoughts will be consumed by how you will obtain alcohol and drugs. If your pursuit is that of lust, then your days will be spent longing for the things that satisfy the flesh. If your pursuit is wealth and prestige, then you will lack fulfillment as wealth has no limits and you will find yourself exhausted and burned-out.

However, if your pursuit is for the heart of God, then with each day that you seek Him, your life will be made better, your outlook will become positive, your attitude will be that of victory and your spirit will be renewed. You see, as you pray and read God’s Word, things begin to change. Seeds of righteousness are planted. Seeds of hope are planted. Seeds of Salvation take root and seeds of love grow in you and that same love flows out of you!

There are many things that can be pursued, but there is only "The ONE THING" that when you make up your mind to chase after, it immediately blesses you...that is the pursuit of our Heavenly Father and The Kingdom of God!

Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but ONE THING I do,  forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - This is How I'm Feeling Right Now...

Too blessed to be stressed
Too anointed to be disappointed
Too saved to be phased

How are you feeling?

If you're content in Jesus, say Amen!!

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - The "WOW" Factor...It's ALL OVER YOU!!!

In reading the story of King Solomon this morning, I was struck by what the queen of Sheba said when she came to see for herself all that she heard about the fame of Solomon. (Read 1 Kings chapter 10)

You see, she had heard the stories of how well Solomon was doing and of his successes, knowledge and wisdom. She heard about the blessing of wealth and kingship. However she did not believe the words that she was hearing.

Know today that there are people in our lives that have heard that there's been a change in our lives, a blessing in our lives and that God has made us a new creation; with a new attitude; having a new perspective; a new purpose; and He has been and continues to richly bless the work of our hands; and He is blessing us in all of our relationships.

Like queen Sheba, let them come, let them investigate and let them see the goodness of God in our lives! May their response by similar to queen Sheba's response:

I CAME, I SAW..."WOW", INDEED THE HALF WAS NOT TOLD TO ME!!!

Yeah, we aren't who we use to be and we are far different than what some may remember. We are continually being made better, wiser and more knowledgeable as we become more like Him, Jesus Christ! "WOW"

"And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of the Lord , there was no more spirit in her. Then she said to the king: “It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom. HOWEVER I did not believe the words until I CAME and SAW with my own eyes; and INDEED THE  HALF WAS  NOT  TOLD  ME. Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame of which I heard." (I Kings 10:4-7 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - "That Person"

That person who will go the extra mile for another. That person who will be there when someone else is in need. That person that others can turn to when all else has turned against them. That person who will pray for someone just because they came to mind. That person who will encourage, buildup, lift up and pray up your brother and sister at all times. God isn't waiting for someone else to do it, He's looking for YOU to do it!

YOU are "That Person", the question is, will you be "That Person"?

“Therefore, putting away lying, “ Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.  Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:25-27, 29-32 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - "It"

Trust God with "It", whatever "It" is.

Trust God with "It".
Trust God in "It".
Trust God through "It"

God ALWAYS wins!!!

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Take EVERYTHING to God in Prayer

KNOW THIS...

God will take from you EVERYTHING that you give to Him! Let me say that again, God will take from you EVERYTHING that you give to Him.

Got it?

This means that:
• addiction will be taken away
• low self-esteem will be taken away
• loneliness will be taken away
• fear, doubt, confusion, lust, greed, perversion and abuse will all be taken away IF YOU GIVE IT TO GOD!

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Trying to Accomplish My Work!

The primary job of an anointed servant of God is to speak or write words to convict people of God's truth. In the speaking or writing of words, he witnesses for God and accomplishes a work.

First Sunday of Advent - Hope (read Psalm 25:1-10)

The Advent wreath is a circular garland of evergreen branches representing eternity. On that wreath, five candles are typically arranged. During the season of Advent one candle on the wreath is lit each Sunday as a part of the Advent services. Each candle represents an aspect of the spiritual preparation for the coming of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Set on the branches of the wreath are four candles: three purple candles and one pink candle. In the center of the wreath sits a white candle. As a whole, these candles represent the coming of the light of Christ into the world.
On the first Sunday of Advent, the first purple candle is lit. This candle represents hope or expectation in anticipation of the coming Messiah.
On the second Sunday of Advent, the second purple candle is lit. This candle typically represents love.
On the third Sunday of Advent the pink, or rose-colored candle is lit. This pink candle is customarily represents joy.
The fourth and last purple candle, represents peace and is lit on the fourth Sunday of Advent.
On Christmas Eve, the white center candle is traditionally lit. This candle is called the "Christ Candle" and represents the life of Christ that has come into the world.

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Faith NOT Fear!

Do not let fear be disabling. Look up, Get up, Stand up and square your shoulders. We serve a God that's MORE THAN ENOUGH!

Special prayers this morning for the ones who don't yet know how to pray for themselves. God's got you in your greatest hour of need. He will be with you when you need Him most. I'm convinced that He has already gone ahead of you to prepare the blessing and the favorable outcome. Have Faith and not fear.

For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’ (Isaiah 41:13 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Christian

"And the Disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." (Acts 11:26b KJV)

What does the word "Christian" mean? It means "Little Christ". Wouldn't it be great if someone called you "Little Jesus" because you had so much of Him in you?

I don't want "to be like Mike", I want to be a Christian!

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - What happened? Who have you allowed to distract you?

Woe to the person that leads you away from Jesus. Woe to you who have allowed yourself to be lured away. Be very careful of what you allow to enter your hearing and be careful of what you permit your eyes to see and that you allow your heart to lust after.

Not everything that appears good is good for you. Our enemy appears as something desirable, but truly his intent is destruction.

Hear the Truth today. Open your eyes to the Truth today. Prepare your heart to receive the Truth today.

Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life! (John 14:6)

"Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth? You ran well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?"(Galatians 3:1a; 5:7 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - "Oh, oh and oh!!!"

Have you ever noticed that when things just get sooooo good that you don't have words to describe it? You get to where you can only say "Oh". Sometimes you just string it, "Oh, Oh, Oh" and at other times you just let it trail off, "Oohhhhh". Well, when you sit down and begin to think just how good God has been to you, all that you can say is, "Oh"!

"Oh", Lord you didn't have to bring me through, bring me back from, bring me out of, bring me into... (You fill in the blank. He's brought all of us from something and to something better). When you think back on His Hand on your life, just say "Oh"!

• "Oh", thank you Jesus for saving me
• "Oh", thank you Jesus for loving me
• "Oh", thank you Jesus for my life, my family, my home, my job, my health, my wealth, my hope, my joy, my peace..."OH, OH, OOOHHHHH"!

"Oh, taste and see that the Lord  is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!" (Psalms 34:8 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - He hears all, He sees all, He knows all and He Lords over all

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord , The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those  who  have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31 NKJV)

Lastly, He provides all that you and I have need of for this day! TRUST HIM WITH YOU!!!

IT'S SUNDAY!

I woke up early, very early this morning with a anxious heart that is filled with Thanksgiving and Praise. God has Called my name again and I have answered again!

I never take for granted His Call on my life and how He will use me to minister (serve) His people and fulfill my purpose.

• Today I will teach a class as we study "The Holy Spirit and You".

• Later, I will lead our Senior Saints Sunday School class on The Book of Acts.

• This afternoon I will assist as the Lay Leader as we accomplish the business of the Local Church during our annual Conference.

• Tonight I will preach God's Word to my Brothers who are in Prison.

True Leaders are never absent. When the clock of time strikes, and their hour is come, they take their place and do their work.

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Prayer, it is not manipulation; prayer is Unification.

Although we're no longer servants but sons, we need to understand the privilege of prayer.

Prayer is not given to enable us to give God orders, to say, "Bless this, do that or provide the other." This is not prayer at all.

Prayer is The Spirit of Jesus Christ working in and through us in order to bring us into harmony with the perfect purposes of The Father.

Prayer is The Spirit of Jesus in me crying, "Abba" - not for manipulation,  but for unification  - to become one with His perfect purpose and plan.

"And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth The Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore though art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ." (Galatians 4:6-7 KJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Decision Time!

How much longer will you suffer needlessly? How many more failed attempts are you willing to take to try to fix things yourself? What life limiting, depleating and debilitating decisions are you locked into and there seems to be no escape?

You've turned to people and have been disappointed. You've given of yourself just to be abused, mistreated and disrespected in bad relationships. You've tried to find relief, release and alternatives in drugs and alcohol. You've heard that smoking calms your nerves but now you have shortness of breath, heart issues and stinky hair and breath. Binge eating on comfort foods have not been beneficial but has indeed added to your waistline and brought along with it other health issues. You've consulted and put your trust in others to only be betrayed and exposed negatively.

You've made many decisions, but have you made THE DECISION?

There is only one right decision that guarantees positive change and an abundant life. Only one decision once made offers eternal forgiveness and eternal life. Only one decision takes you from being an outcast to being accepted and beloved in The Kingdom of God.

THE DECISION
- cleanses
- restores
- liberates
- provides
- comforts
- protects
- promotes
- secures

BTW, THE DECISION isn't about choosing a religion but it is about entering into a relationship with Jesus, The Christ!

It's Decision Time! Say YES!!!

God , the Master, The Holy of Israel, has this solemn counsel: “Your salvation requires you to turn back to me and stop your silly efforts to save yourselves. Your strength will come from settling down in complete dependence on me— The very thing you’ve been unwilling to do." (Isaiah 30:15 MSG)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Stay Alert and Don't be Found Sleeping!

This morning as I was reading the scriptures for Bible study this afternoon, I found myself drifting back off to sleep. My eyes lost focus and became heavy again. Indeed my spirit is willing but my flesh is weak!

You see, when my alarm clock went off I sprang into awakeness. The same is true when we hear the Gospel. It's as if an alarm has gone off and we awaken spiritually, we spring into new life, new hope and new purpose.

However, there are times that we get physically tired and we drift off, our spiritual awakeness is being compromised by our physical desire to go back to sleep. Our awakeness is not what it was when we first heard the alarm and before we know it, we've fallen back to sleep, even while trying to do the right thing...studying, praying and seeking. Again, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.

The falling asleep again is something that you don't realize because it sneaks up on you when you become overly comfortable, when life quiets down from its business and when you are alone. It is at this time that the enemy would entice you to relax, slow down, take a break or even a timeout from your seeking, studying and praying. Why not, all is going well and you're in a comfortable time in your life.

It is when we are alone and comfortable that we are more susceptible to being duped or lulled into sleep or sleepiness. It's when we allow ourselves to drift off or to take our eyes off of Jesus that we lose sight of our purpose, our drive and our motivation.

Well this morning I'm sounding an alarm. WAKEUP, WAKEUP, WAKEUP! I beg you to stay alert and to not be found sleeping!

I found myself drifting and quickly snapped out of it. Now that I've sat up, refocused and re-engaged I'm nudging you in the Spirit to get up, be alert and to keep on going!

In Christ Jesus, Amen.

Then He came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not watch one hour?  Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Mark 14:37-38 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Allow Yourself to Think BIG Today!

I never try to think small and I try to surround myself with people who don't think small.

The Apostle Peter said he wrote both of his books in the Bible "to stimulate you in wholesome thinking (2nd Peter 3:1 NIV)."

Proverbs 23:7 says: "As he [man] thinketh in his heart, so is he."

The way we think is very important, because our thoughts guide our actions. We can think small or negative, and our results will be the same. I believe that there is power in thinking big and thinking positively.

Speak to your day even now...

Today, I will accept every challenge and I will succeed in every one of them even beyond the expectations of others and even of myself.

Today, all of my interactions will be beneficial to both parties. I will not accept negativity or misunderstandings to get in the way of productivity and networking potentials.

Today, I will make my superiors proud that they chose me, empowered me and trusted me to get this Project moving towards completion. Ultimately, it is God who will be glorified by my work and diligence to do the right thing.

Tonight, once all has been said and done, I'm going to raise my hands to God and praise Him for my gifts, my talents and for the works of my hands.

We serve a GREAT BIG GOD who wants you to accomplish GREAT BIG THINGS that will be a GREAT BIG BLESSING for others.

I'm ready to do BIG THINGS because my BIG GOD has given me the ability to think GREAT BIG THOUGHTS, knowing that in Christ Jesus that I have no limitations because "I can do all things in Christ Jesus who strengthens me!"

Lastly, I'm sending up GREAT BIG PRAYERS for all of you to do BIG and GREAT things today!

Here's a BIG SMILE for your day! 😃

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Overcomers

IT'S FRIDAY and for most, Friday signifies the end of the work week.

Overcomers, let's celebrate the end because of how we prepared, declared and faired at the beginning of our week! We spoke victory before we ever faced the challenge. We saw the blessing before it completed its work. We picked confidence and never considered concern. We were focused and not confused as to how we would succeed.

Overcomers have a heart, the conviction and the mindset of overcoming even before the challenge presents itself.

Like Caleb, we are Overcomers because The God we serve enables us to be victorious in Him!

I declare again this morning that we shall overcome this weekend because we are Overcomers that overcomes so we don't fear for we already know the outcome of what we will overcome!! (Say that again if you can...LOL 😉)!!!

Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” (Numbers 13:30 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Getting Past "NO"

My assignment is to share The Good News (The Gospel of Jesus Christ) as best I can and in as many ways that I can. My task on my assignment is to get you past your "No".

1.) I aim to tell you repeatedly of the love of The Lord and of His goodness towards us.

2.) I will preach His Word in such a way that you will understand the depth of His grace, mercy, forgiveness and faithfulness for you.

3.) I will teach with passion on how He has come to rescue you and how He so desperately wants to lift you off of the salvage heap that the enemy has placed us on because of sin.

4.) I will reach the least, the lost and even inside of prison walls to present and introduce you to Jesus!

I've said "Yes" to get you past "No" and I will make good on my assignment! My assignment is to you brother and to you sister, no matter "where" you might be in life.

Jesus sees you where you are and He knows all about your situation. He has asked, "whom shall I send?", and I've answered, "Here Am I, SEND ME."

I pray that you will get past "No" and say YES to Jesus before your eyes close for the last time in this life. In the name of Jesus. Amen.

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - This Day

TODAY. You will get out of it, what you put into it. Plan little, then expect little. Ignore the significance of this day and this day will be for you, insignificant. Dismiss The Almighty God, then you will face the evil planned against you unprotected.

Want to change; NO, NEED A CHANGE? Start your day by asking God to be a part of your day. Ask Him to go with you today. Ask Him to help you today. Trust Him in your life today. Believe in His love and concern for your day. Surrender all that you are to Him today.

Pray today: Lord, I need Your forgiveness, Your mercy, Your grace and Your love in my life. I can't make it another day living outside of Your Will and Purpose for my life. I confess Jesus as my Lord, Savior and Friend on this day. Cleanse me from the inside out and order my steps. Today, accept me into the Body of Christ and make my name known in Heaven as you write my name in The Book of Life. In Christ Jesus, I renounce all activities and beliefs that contradict Your Holy Word and I receive Your Holy Spirit to lead me on the path of right living. In the matchless name of Your Son, Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

Sermon: "Take it, Cast it and Let it Become" Exodus 7:8-9 NKJV

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Zodiac Signs, Astrology, Palm Reading, Ouija Boards and Crystal Balls?? Gobbledygook!!

Christians DON'T Follow Signs,  Signs FOLLOW Christians!!

"And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;  they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”(Mark 16:17-18 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - LOVE: Have it; Give it; Show it!

My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” (I John 3:18; John 13:34-35 NKJV)

Have a Lovely and Loving weekend!

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - CHRISTIANS DON'T BELIEVE IN FATE, WE BELIEVE IN THE LIVING GOD!

Horoscope or Astrology is defined as a forecast of a person's future, typically including a delineation of character and circumstances, based on the relative positions of the stars and planets at the time of that person's birth.

The idea behind Astrology or fortune-telling is the idea of a "fixed fate", an unchanging future that is already laid out and cannot be changed. This not scriptural!

Satan has deceived people into thinking that they can know the future. In his cleverness, he has many "fooled" into believing "what will be, will be", and in doing so, this "foolishness" by "foolish" folks have "fooled" themselves into "falling" for a "fatalistic" attitude toward life!

We serve a Loving, Living, Life-changing God! He changes our residence from hell to Heaven. He changes our status from sinner to Saint. He changes our torment to Triumph. He changes our relationships from severed to Stong. He changes our pity to Praise and our worry to Worship!

As Christians we are not bound by fate, we are Victorious, Blessed, Favored, Renewed, Revived, Powerful, Perfected, Promoted, Lifted, Gifted, Healed, Restored and Protected by THE FATHER!!!

Don't be FOOLED by your daily "Horror-scope", this is witchcraft controlled by Satan. You were created by a creative God to be a creative Being made in His image and in His likeness. Fate is a negative connotation which means events that are beyond your control, yet Christ said that He has come so that you may have LIFE and not only life, but an ABUNDANT LIFE!

Today and every day claim victory in Christ Jesus and don't fall for the trickery of the Devil. No man can tell me what God has in store for my day or for my life! I get my daily bread, my strength and my hope from God. BTW, if you truly want to affect your future in a positive way, receive Christ and then everything about you will change!

"There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or  one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord , and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you. You shall be blameless before the Lord your God." (Deuteronomy 18:10-13 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Sheep

As you may already know, Sheep are easily distracted and susceptible to being mislead because they will follow anything aimlessly. There was a printed article that I found online this morning concerning a Herd of Sheep that followed one Sheep that aimlessly walked off of a cliff to its death below. One Sheep after another followed that Sheep over the cliff. The first couple hundred, approx. 450 died, yet approx. 1,000 in all plunged over the cliff only to be cushioned by the furry pile that had stacked beneath them. This Herd had no Shepherd to watch after them to steer them away from the cliff, to prevent them from wandering aimlessly and to lead them to pastures and not danger.

Bottomline, Shepherdless Sheep wander and follow one another without direction; without purpose; and without protection. My question to all who are reading this post is, "Are you following the crowd or are you following Jesus?"

Following the crowd can and will lead you into dangers that you aren't able or prepared to handle. Following the crowd suggests that you take on the identity of the crowd...you are just another Sheep, not the unique, loved, blessed and gifted Man or Woman of God that was created in God’s image and in God's likeness...no you are just Sheep.

When you and I follow the true Shepherd, He knows you by name. He knows your uniqueness, your ways and He keeps you from straying! Our Shepherd, Jesus, The Christ not only leads and cares, He also protects and promises safety both now and for all eternity!

Sheep need a Shepherd - You need a Savior! The True Shepherd is also The Savior. He will not let you be lost and He will not let you be destroyed. He has never lost one or has He allowed one to be snatched from His love and protection! Become of His Flock today!

"My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.  And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.  My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.  I and My Father are one.” (John 10:25-30 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Encourager; Be Encouraged!

There are those who have been gifted to champion the lives; to aide in the promotion of those lives; and to strive for the success of the lives that they are assigned to. However, those who encourage must also be strong in the operation of this gift as the enemy would want to turn your gift into your curse.

What I'm saying is that the Devil is clever to use your gift against you. Remember, encouragement is something that YOU are gifted to do; not everyone operates in this gift. So, don't be duped when you find encouraging others is easily done by yourself, but this same encouragement is not reciprocal in your own life by others. Don't ever stop encouraging just because you yourself are not being encouraged.

Keep on blessing others and keep on helping others...and if need be encourage yourself! I did this morning by the scripture that I've read and am now sharing with other Encouragers!

"The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped." (Proverbs 11:25 MSG)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Sooner or Later...

I don't want anyone to be ignorant; NO, I need to ensure that I say this while YOU still have an opportunity to change the course of YOUR eternal life that will be spent either in The Kingdom of Heaven with God or in the dungeon of Hell with the Fallen.

Sooner or Later you will breathe your last breath. The great equalizer that ignores socioeconomic status, educational achievements, prestige, popularity, poverty, illness, isolation, addiction...whatever and wherever you are this morning is DEATH. We will all, Sooner or Later face this stark reality, we will all face death. However, some of us will never intimately KNOW death, meaning that we will transition from this life to the next. True death is the absence and separation from God. Therefore, there will be others who will KNOW death intimately, spiritually and eternally. The only way to pass through death and to not get captured by death is to be in The One who has conquered death...Jesus, The Christ! You can deny Him again this morning, thinking to yourself that this is all just foolishness and that "You Got You", but you must know that you will have to kneel before Him in judgment...Sooner or Later.

**No one will be in the Kingdom of Heaven except through Jesus Christ.**

"Sooner or later we’ll all have to face God, regardless of our conditions. We will appear before Christ and take what’s coming to us as a result of our actions, either good or bad." (2 Corinthians 5:10 MSG)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - My PURPOSE is far greater than my Popularity!

I don't use social media to get "Likes" or flattering comments, but I use social media as a vehicle to share my joy, hope and love that I have in Christ Jesus. You see, God has given me my assignment, my life now has purpose and my purpose has significance as both my assignment and purpose is to share with YOU The GIFT of eternal life in Christ Jesus!

I agree and stand on what the Apostle Paul wrote in the Book of Acts, "What matters most to me is to finish what God started: the job the Master Jesus gave me of letting everyone I meet know all about this incredibly extravagant generosity of God." (Acts 20:24 MSG)

This is why I do what I do...'Nuff said 😉

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - What is the Name of Your Thief?

What is it that has entered into your life that is taking away from you so much? What is it that is robbing you of integrity, reputation and relationships? Does your enemy, the Thief, disguise himself as an addiction or does he come as something that you desire and lust after? Does the Thief manifest through lies, slander and ridicule of others? The Thief is clever and the Thief is busy! The Thief has come and he remains with the sole purpose to Kill, Steal and Destroy all hope; all faith; and all relationships with The Almighty God.

God's response - Jesus! Jesus has come to give us life and more than that, He has come to give us an abundant life. The awesomeness of this abundant life is that it is both immediate and eternal.

Expose the Thief, arrest him and put him away! Get your joy back, get your peace back, get your hope, dreams, reputation, relationships, integrity back...get your life back and get it restored to the abundance that can only be obtained in Christ Jesus! Oh yeah, it's both immediate and eternal and Jesus will do it right now.

Pray: Jesus, come into my life to be my Lord and my Savior. I surrender all to You. Amen.

That's it...that's all. May you accept salvation right now and right where you are and stop being robbed of the greatness that is abundantly yours in Christ Jesus.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Pray Without Ceasing

These 3 words you hear often in the church because this is what the church is meant to do. A lot of people ask how does a person continually maintain prayer. I smile when I think about this because I just want to say to them that it's not so much on "How", but more of "Why" are we told to pray without ceasing!

For me, it's hard to be Anointed and Balanced at times! Some days you want to treat people how they've been treating you. Some days you want to cuss folks out. Some days you want to tell folks off. Hey, I'm just being real. Without prayer or as I would say, "it's time for me to take a spiritual timeout", I'd probably follow through (more often) on some of these things...not on some days, but nearly every day. I said more often, because there are times when I'm not as strong and I flip out! So, I must pray!

Start your day with prayer and pray throughout your day, so that "some days" won't be your day today.

"Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17 NASB)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Prayer, it's what this day calls for!

God says, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV)

Today

I'm Praying today. There is so much to pray for and so many of my brothers and sisters who are in need of prayer.

If you would like to be added to my prayer list, respond to this message saying, "Add Me". If you will join me in praying for others, respond by saying, "Amen".

This is not about the number of responses, but for those who are sincerely seeking God for family, situations or self. I will receive your requests all day and will be in prayer by 7pm this evening.

Blessings for your day.

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - It is not dead, it's only asleep!

So many restless and sleepless nights we have had in our lives over family and over situations that we have given up on. We look at our circumstances and begin to weep and wail over them, we feel helpless and we mourn and hang our heads and oftentimes we feel as though our hope and dreams have died along with our relationships or we have a defeatist attitude because our situation appears lifeless, our ambitions seem dormant and our aspirations have faded to nothing. We simply assume that it is dead!

But I've come to share with you The Word of God, which is The Word of Truth, The Word of Promise and The Word of Love, Life, Joy, Peace and Hope. The Word let's us know:

·         Jesus is the way, the truth and the life
·         Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and on the earth
·         Jesus is the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth shall never die.

Have you come to Jesus, bringing to Him that thing that you feel or have believed is dead? If not, why not? Hear of a man, a ruler whose daughter died, yet he sought Jesus and asked Jesus to come into his home to lay His hands on a dead situation and watch what happened. The same is still true today. When we invite Jesus into our homes, into our lives and into our situations life is restored, relationships are healed, situations are rectified and favor is granted.

Don't give up, just look up!

While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.” So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His disciples. When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. (Matthew 9:18-19, 23-25 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Whose Children Are We?

There are those of us who are really good at lying! Not only are we well adapted to stubbornly denying the truth, but we have lied so much and so good that we have made our lies seem as if they were truth! This reveals who our real father is. Untruths cause division, spreads disorder, puts brother against brother, and finally lies can kill both by word and by deed. Folks, the lies that we so easily live in, live with and thrive in truly reveals who our true father is...the devil. Yes, it is the devil who is the father of all lies.

Is not the work of the deceiver and murderer all around us? We see his work in our communities and neighborhoods where homes are torn apart by lies. We see it in our streets where violence has become so rampant that it has become the norm...to the point that when we turn on the television, it is not surprising at all to hear of drug crimes, murder, arson and other violent acts against our own communities. Even more disturbing is that the division that is caused by lying is not only in the community, neighborhoods and in the streets, but you can find the same in the church! Let's be truthful, YES, the church knows where the bad areas of town are, we know who the dealers are, the prostitutes, the swindlers and the thieves because they are oftentimes in our very own community; yes even the community in which our churches are located. The lie here is our ignoring and even denying the true underlying issue with these issues...the devil is busy and unchallenged! We pray for ourselves but seldom for the liberation of the prostitute while they are living in that profession...no, we sit back and wait for them to come to the church. It is seen when we avoid areas of town that we know are "shady", yet we get into the church house and pray for mission funds and mission opportunities...avoiding the mission that needs to take place in our own neighborhoods. Again, lies are not only spoken untruths, but they are also revealed by our deeds and our ignoring the problem aides the deterioration of our very own society.

Who is really in charge here and whose children are we?

In the Gospel of John, chapter 8 (listed below), Jesus is confronting the Jews who say that they are Abraham's children. In essence, Jesus is telling them that by their claim, they are living an illusion. Jesus begins to clear up the misconceptions the Jews had about their ancestry. The Jews were clinging to the illusion that they are the spiritual children of Abraham because he is their physical father. Do we say similar things to try to establish our own spiritual credentials? We are either Methodist, Baptist or Catholic or it was our family who constructed the church or that we were here when the church was founded. Jesus simply asks in verse 39 why are they not doing the works of Abraham if they are his children.

Jesus says that they are so far left of being Abraham's children that they will not even listen to Jesus' words. Jesus tells them the truth, but His word has no place in them. It goes even deeper...because of the darkness in them (and in us), not only will they not hear the truth, they will not even believe it!

We have to be on task and do the work of our Father, The Lord God who is in heaven. If we are not about our Heavenly Father's business, then whose children are we?

Jesus said  to them, “You do the deeds of your father." Then they said to Him, "We were not born of fornication; we have one Father--God." Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears God's words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God." (John 8:41-47 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - God SO LOVES the World

Because of this fact there are some things we need to know.

God's grace will take you from the streets to the Altar. God's love will take you from running and hiding to your knees where you will find rest for your soul. God's mercy will deliver you from the dungeons of life to the Kingdom of God. God's Word will guide you through the wilderness and will be a light for your journey in this dark world.

I felt this morning that I needed to get this to someone going through times of doubt and confusion. Don't be fooled or duped by this life by thinking that God doesn't love you.

For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life. (John 3:16 AMP)

GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD AND GOD SO LOVES YOU!!!

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - He's Coming Back. Have you NOT YET Believed?

Lots and lots of interest last night surrounding the Blood Moon. I received text messages and Facebook private messages from those who were concerned over the prophecies of the Blood Moon.

My response, I'm already in bed, I'll hit you back on tomorrow. Cold? No. Conceded? I am not. Not Worried, not concerned and not freaking out...EXACTLY!

You see, I have already received The Promise of eternal life. I already have The Gift of The Blessed Holy Spirit. My name has already been written in The Lamb's Book of Life. I am, have been and shall ever be cleansed by The Blood of Jesus Christ. I have become a part of The Kingdom, I am a son of The Most High God, I am a heir, I am blessed, I am highly favored, I am safe and I AM SAVED.

Yes, I slept well last night and had The Lord came back and cracked the sky, I would bow down in worship and praise Him for His return...yes, a return that those who are in Christ are waiting for with great expectation. This place is not my home, I'm only here temporarily.

Today would be a great day for you to put away your fears and for you to quit gambling with your eternal resting place. Contrary to popular opinions, you don't have time "later" to make your decision. Today is the time to decide because tomorrow may very well be to late.

For the time [has arrived] for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will [be] the end of those who do not respect or believe or obey the good news (the Gospel) of God? And if the righteous are barely saved, what will become of the godless and wicked? (1 Peter 4:17-18 AMP)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Walking with Jesus!

I take Tucker (my puppy), for a walk around the neighborhood each morning. I bought my wife and I Fitbits so that we can begin to improve and manage our health while walking. We find satisfaction with the results on some days, but on others we feel disappointed with our walk because we didn't put forth the desired effort.

This is common to so many of us in life. There are times when we are doing really well and we relish in our daily walk. But there are also times when we get tired and we give up and become distraught and disappointed. We tend to become overly concerned with the distance, the terrain and life's obstacles. We get put off by the weather, weariness and lack of motivation (life's conditions).

Yes we can be put off sometimes by the calculations displayed on our Fitbit, but I've learned by reading, trusting and believing in God's Word that no matter how far and no matter how much walking that I can log in this world, that it truly doesn't compare to the walk that I have with Christ Jesus.

You see, there was a time in my life when the storms in my life were raging out of control and the boat that I thought would carry me through began to breakaway and capsize, that I had to step out on faith and walk to the only One who could both control me and the storm! I never truly walked until I heard The Lord say, "Come" and I took Him at His Word and I walked!

Now about my walk with Jesus:

• I'm never disappointed
• I'm never unmotivated
• I'm never dissatisfied
• I'm never deterred
• I'm ALWAYS encouraged
• I'm ALWAYS at peace
• I'm ALWAYS on the path
• I never walk alone
• I never grow weary
• I never give in, give up or turn back

Like Peter who got out of the boat and to this very day remains the only man to have walked on water; I too have been taken to greater Greats and I too have walked and shall continue to walk in places, in lives and in situations that I could have never even imagined that I would walk!

Today, step out of that thing that can't and won't hold you any longer and walk to Jesus. He wants not only to Save you, but He wants to give you a new walk!

I can't wait to join you on The Journey of Faith. Let's walk together!

And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. (Matthew 14:28-29 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Today is a good day to be GREAT!

Greatness is displayed when we forsake our own motives and ambitions for the good that we can do for another. I truly believe that each one of us can achieve greatness during our day by helping another with the abundance of what we have. I'm not necessarily talking about material things, but our time and attention given to another in their time of need goes a long way. However, for those of us who have been blessed with material things, perhaps we would even share with one who is not as fortunate at the moment.  A warm blanket and a warm coat goes a long way for the upcoming drop in temperatures.

God has blessed each of us in a special way so that we may in-turn bless another. I try my best to share my blessing of encouragement each day with all who will accept it.  I may not be passing out financial blessings, coats or blankets, but I do share out of the abundance of encouragement that I have. If we each shared what we have been blessed with then we can be certain that we have made a great difference in the live of someone else.

The reward for being great is to see the great in someone else!  Since you are great, help someone else achieve greatness and if not greatness, help them achieve better and if not better, help them be content.  Whatever may be your level of activity in the life of another today, know that whatever little bit you have to put into it that God will take your little and make it GREAT!!

Today is a good day to be GREAT

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Hey, What's "that" in your hand?

Why do we underestimate ourselves? Do you know that your entire life has been a time of preparation for what God has Called you to be? That very thing that you have used and counted on to get you through some stuff, that very thing that you do without having to put much thought into it...it just comes to you naturally, and that thing that you use and rely on to help you overcome obstacles and tough situations just about every time a situation happens. Yeah, it's "that" thing; "that" gift; "that" significant, special, talented, reliable, undeniable thing that is your signature/go to thing that you already possess that makes you uniquely you!  It is "that" thing...yeah, that's it, right there already in your hand!!

God wants to use what you already have to do great things for the Kingdom of God. He wants you to use that computer to not only collect and reflect data, but to reach people in every nation, every state, every city, every community and in every home with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He wants for you to sing out loud, in public places, in church houses, in neighborhoods and at events to glorify His name. He wants you to reach, preach and teach His loving kindness and forgiveness on the airwaves, on streaming video, CDs, using a microphone, a megaphone and even a cell phone.  He wants us to stop minimizing what we already possess.  He wants us to understand that what we already have is made powerful and can do miraculous things when we use what we have for His purpose.

So again, What's "that" in your hand? Now take that same thing and lay it before the Lord and watch Him bless it to do marvelous things for those around you...things that will bless others, free others and lead others to God. Yes, you are exactly who God needs to send to those who are being held captive by the schemes and the trickery of this world.

Then Moses said, "What if they will not believe me or listen to what I say? For they may say, 'The LORD has not appeared to you.'" The LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?" And he said, "A staff." Then He said, "Throw it on the ground." So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it. But the LORD said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand and grasp it by its tail"—so he stretched out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand — "that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you." (Exodus 4:1-5 NASB)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Sin is Forbidden

Remember that sin is not bad because it's forbidden, but that it's forbidden because it's bad.

So wise is the person who understands this principle, stays as far away from that which you know will hurt not only yourself, but those who are around you...especially, your family.

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Hold on for a little while longer!

Everybody is going through tough times these days. Every community is suffering from today's economic conditions, social matters; sickness and disease seem to be more prevalent than ever before. Selfishness is running rampant and pride is at an all time high. There is no sense of sharing, caring or unity as everyone is trying to do "their thing" while others are left behind and forgotten. Family units hardly exist, prisons are full and charity is a figment of our imaginations these days. Homelessness is still overwhelming and even now on the television each day we are seeing country-less brothers and sisters who are seeking something-anything better than what they have.

People are oppressed, depressed and obsessed today...everywhere. So, I know that it seems daunting for us and it is, but there is nothing too hard for God. God has his eyes on all of this. God has a plan for you and for me. God wants us to trust Him in our situations and circumstances...He's come to our rescue before and you better believe that He'll do it again!

Hold on for a little while longer...God will and God does have last word; yes, He does!

Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You're not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It's the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won't last forever. It won't be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does. (1 Peter 5:8-11 The Message)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - I'm on God's Time!

Myself along with many of my friends back home are grieving the unexpected death of a friend that we all knew from kindergarten until a week ago. This untimely death makes us look at ourselves more deeply.  However, I want to not think negatively about whatever amount of time that I may have left on this earth; No, I want to give thanks for the time that I've already had and the time that is still in front of me.  You see, the time of my departure out of the world, depends upon God. My enemies cannot quicken it nor can my family and friends delay it any longer than the time appointed by God.

As true believers we can look up and say with pleasure, my times are in the hand of God and being that my time is in His hand, I must also know that it is better than in my own hands. I am so glad that God is in control of my time here on this earth and being that I am up and writing this now simply means that He still has a purpose for me to fulfill and that no matter what anyone or anything has to say about that...there is absolutely nothing that can be done about it!  I'm on God's Time!

Now, I must get on with my purpose and not forfeit any time to my enemies; God will handle my enemies. I'm just to keep on moving.

Ready, set and GO!!!

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - How Many Times Must We be Reminded?

Those first 3 words I've must have heard my entire adolescent life from both of my parents, especially my Mom who was the disciplinarian in our house. Yes we had rules and I would say that we had a lot of rules, but to be honest, I don't think that we had more rules to live by than anyone else. You see, the rules that my Mom had were simple, although at the time they seemed difficult and over the top.  The rules were to keep us safe so that we would not get hurt.

"How many times do I have to tell you to lock the doors when you go out to play?"
"How many times do I have to tell you to wash your hands before you eat?"
"How many times do I have to tell you to go to bed, get your homework done and to put your clothes away?"
"How many times do I have to tell you to respect your elders, say "Yes Ma'am, Yes Sir, No Ma'am and No Sir?"

How many times did we sigh each time we heard things repeated to us as children? How many times did we think that our parents were broken records that just "skipped"? How many times did we brush them off as if they just didn't realize who we were or that they were in essence disrespecting us in some way?

Now, how many of us who are all grown up are thankful for the rules and the upbringing that we had as children? I think back over my life and begin to wonder "How many times" I was not caught up in the crowd doing things that would destroy my future and ultimately my life. I wonder on "How many times" I have said no to some of the craziness that enslaves our children today (drugs, drugs and more drugs). I'm thankful for the many times that I had to be in the house when the street lights came on, but when the sirens started to blare in the middle of the night, guess what, my parents weren't awake fearing that it was me or one of my brothers...we were in and most likely already in bed.  What ever happened to a bed time? (LOL)

Well, Jesus has been speaking to the Pharisees and the Jewish people since He came on the scene and He has been saying the same thing over and over.  In John 1:4 Jesus says, "In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men." In John 8:12 Jesus says, "I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." In John 9:5 Jesus says, "While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world".

So, "How many times" must we hear that Jesus is the Savior, Jesus loves us, Jesus forgives, Jesus gives us victory, Jesus gives us liberty, Jesus gives us life abundantly?  How much longer are we willing to bump around in the dark, hurting not only ourselves but those in our lives that love us? How many times are we trying to maneuver our way around this cold and dark world, yet we keep falling into the same traps and snares? How man times do I have to ask you How much longer?

Listen to Jesus once more..."For a little while longer the Light is among you. Walk while you have the Light, so that darkness will not overtake you; he who walks in the darkness does not know where he goes."

One day the lights are really going to go out and you who are not in the light will be in utter darkness...darkness like you have never known ever before; darkness that can and will be felt.  Please my brother and my sister, walk in the Light of Jesus Christ and never be caught in the darkness ever again.

Be blessed as you walk in the Light today!

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Will it be you?

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”(Isaiah 6:8 NKJV)

Although this was Isaiah receiving his Call to ministry, this same Call is for you and I. How will you respond to the Call of God?

Know this, there are those in your life who are in need of hearing the gospel from your lips.

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - I'm IMPERFECT and Proud of It!!

Bringing my perfection to the world does absolutely nothing for anyone, but bringing and showing my imperfections and then telling the world of God's redemptive work in me is what will change the hearts of other imperfect people who can and shall be used mightily by our Perfect God. He wants to redeem you, especially with all of your faults, imperfections, missteps and mistakes!

And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.  (2 Corinthians 12:7-10 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - NO, I Can't SHUT UP!!

Every day I wake up with great excitement as to what God will say to me and what He would have me to know about His love; His compassion; His faithfulness; His majesty; His greatness; His awesomeness, limitless, boundless, ageless and unmeasurable forgiveness for His creation!

When I open up His Word I lose track of time but I find my purpose. When I open up His Word I forget about my problems because I've grabbed ahold of His promises. When I open up His Word I no longer feel tired and sleepy but I receive energy and enthusiasm. When I open up His Word I leave the grips of pain and fear and I fall into the ever loving arms of Christ Jesus. When I open up His Word I see who I am in God's eye not what the world has condemned me to be. When I open up His Word I know that I can do all things in Christ Jesus who strengthens me!!

Every day when I open up God's Word I see all of these things and more. Even more overwhelming is the fact that His Word is not just speaking about me and what I can do and about who I am....NO, God's Word also includes all of these things about YOU ALSO!! So, NO, I CAN'T AND WON'T SHUT UP...I have something that I am compelled to tell you and I need to reminded of who I am at the same time. What I have is for both you and for me!

What God has is a blessing with our names on it!!  Come and get it!!

Oh, I'll guard with my life what you've revealed to me, guard it now, guard it ever; And I'll stride freely through wide open spaces as I look for your truth and your wisdom; Then I'll tell the world what I find, speak out boldly in public, unembarrassed. (Psalm 119-44-46 The Message).

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - YOU'VE BEEN CAUGHT IN THE ACT, BUT One by One...!

This portion of scripture is awesome. Jesus was in the temple courts and all through the feast Jesus is being judged by the religious leaders or His naysayers. They say that He has never studied as he was too young in age - Jewish culture has it that the age of wisdom is 50 years of age, yet there Jesus was teaching anyway, these leaders/naysayers claim that Jesus has a demon, and even that He has come from or was born from the wrong place to be the Messiah. They have already claimed and will later claim that His witness is not true, that He is a Samaritan, and they have repeatedly sought to kill Him since he healed the lame man at the Pool of Bethesda on the Sabbath.

Yet among all of this, what a lovely witness we have here in Jesus as He shows His caring love for one lonely, frightened sinner! You see, there were those who caught a woman in the act of adultery. They brought her before Jesus, there was nothing that she could say, she was guilty! Have you ever done something that you are not proud of? Have you ever done something wrong and have been caught "red-handed"? Have you ever lied, cheated, stole, wanted something that someone else had...wanted someone that somebody else had or lusted after something that was not yours? I know that a couple of those sounded the same but they are quite different. Anyway, have you ever just been plain CAUGHT IN THE ACT?

Well, this woman was CAUGHT IN THE ACT, yet Jesus' only response to her accusers was, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." Now her accusers who were seeking to cast judgment on her had to look inwardly to judge themselves. Question: Who among any of us is without sin? Who has never made a mistake? Who has never lied, cheated, stole, lusted, struggled with jealousy, drank too much, partied too hard, smoked too much...who among you has never done anything contrary to the will of God?

This is exactly why I like this scripture...those who were judging were now being judged by the true Judge. They couldn't bear to cast judgement after reviewing deep within themselves their own faults. So, ONE BY ONE they dropped their stones...from the oldest - those who have heaped up more sins/wrongs to the youngest...each of them dropped their stones and walked away.

Today, you may be feeling accused. Today, you may be struggling with acceptance. Today, Jesus is wanting and waiting for you to come to Him. When you come to Jesus, it really doesn't matter who accuses you of anything. Jesus will accept you and those that are His are His...no one can stand to accuse you any longer!  Watch your naysayers and your accusers go away...ONE BY ONE!

For those of us who are "in" the church but are not "BEING" the church...drop your stones, each one of you...from the oldest to the youngest...let the stones drop!!!

"Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, they said to Him, "Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?" This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, "Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?" She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said to her, "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." (John 8:2-11 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Just Look UP!

Just stepped outside to take Tucker out. I looked up into the sky and saw so many Stars. What a clear sky and what a day before us that has so many opportunities and so much promise.

Yes, all of that just by looking up. Now, I'll bend down on my knees to "Seal the Deal". God promised and now we must receive it!

My voice You shall hear in the morning, O Lord ; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up. (Psalms 5:3 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Three Basic Elements of Prayer

This morning's Sunday School Lesson in case we don't have it because of our Consecration Service:

When they had been released, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, "O Lord, it is You who MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM, who by the Holy Spirit, through the mouth of our father David Your servant, said, 'WHY DID THE GENTILES RAGE, AND THE PEOPLES DEVISE FUTILE THINGS? 'THE KINGS OF THE EARTH TOOK THEIR STAND, AND THE RULERS WERE GATHERED TOGETHER AGAINST THE LORD AND AGAINST HIS CHRIST.' "For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur. "And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence, while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus." And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness. (Acts 4:23-31 NASB)

1.) WHO HE IS:  "O Lord, it is You who MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM

When you're feeling pressured, when you're being threatened, it's always a good idea to start prayer by remembering to whom you're talking. Sometimes my problems seem so big and insurmountable until I start to worship and remember WHO HE IS - the Creator of all things.

2.) WHAT IS HAPPENING: "For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose predestined to occur."

In Psalm 2, Father, the believers prayed, "You told us that the heathen would try to come against You and Your people - We acknowledge that this is all in accordance with Your will. David wrote in Psalm 73 that the heathen seem to prosper while the Godly suffer.  Peter said, "Think it not strange when fiery trials come upon you" (1 Peter 4:12)

When persecution comes, it is in accordance with the Word and the will of the Father

3.) WHY WE COME:  "And now, Lord, take note of their threats, and grant that Your bond-servants may speak Your word with all confidence, while You extend Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders take place through the name of Your holy servant Jesus."

The early church didn't pray that they might have a break from persecution, but that they might have boldness in persecution.

THE RESULT: And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.

We often pray when we are shaken up. These guys prayed so they could BE SHAKEN UP!!!

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - A Triple Threat!!!

Rich...Young...Fool - Hmmm...

And He told them a parable, saying, "The land of a rich man was very productive.  And he began reasoning to himself, saying, 'What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops?'  Then he said, 'This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.  And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry."'  But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?'  So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God." (Luke 12:16-21 NASB)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - YOU ARE IN THE PLAN OF GOD!

No group, however violent and strong; no gang, however organized and sophisticated; and no movement, however popular and situated can change God's plan, neither His time, His method nor His message and messenger! It is the Sovereign God who is making the moves, not God's enemies. HALLELUJAH!!

As I rise up again this morning as I have on all of the mornings preceding this one: safe, secure, joyful, on purpose, with a purpose, in my right mind, good health, peace, love and fellowship I have to realize that if I was NOT in the plan of God, then I would not be able to sleep in peace in this mad and confused world.

Let's give God praise for just being able to rise yet again today. Let's give God praise for each and every obstacle that He has already gone ahead of you on this day and removed. Let's give God praise for the obstacles that He has given you authority over so that you may simply speak and they shall be moved. Let's praise God for the experiences that await us today and for the people we will encounter and for those that will come our way so that we can encourage them.

Give God Praise because AGAIN TODAY, YOU ARE IN THE PLAN OF GOD!!!

Know this, when we are in God's plan, then we are unstoppable!

Go forth, be a blessing as you are blessed and do your part in God's plan...right where you are!

And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing; but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it—lest you even be found to fight against God.”(Acts 5:38-39 NKJV)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Don't use "Your" doctrine to trump The Bible!

What I mean is that the Bible trumps man’s authority, church tradition, and our own opinions. What I mean is that we must not allow anything that opposes God’s Word to dictate our actions or control our thinking.

There are many translations but the same Word of God. There are many versions, colors, print sizes and covers but it is the same Word of God. However, it is truly our own interpretation that gets us in trouble. We are quick to internalize scriptures without first understanding the foundational truths of scripture. We look for the "Get out of jail free card" that seems to fit our situations. We miss or simply skip over the parts of Scripture where God let's us suffer the consequences of sin. We don't talk much about the correction and admonition of The Lord. We stay away from teaching holiness yet some of us stress "only mess"...Praise your way out...Tell 3 people next to you...Give a handclap of praise...Get ready, get ready, get ready...

We must understand that when we study, comprehend and live by God's Word, then we praise because we come to realize who God is; how God loves us; what God has done and is doing; and we learn that God can do anything but fail. We shout, we praise and we worship because of what we have come to learn is the truth of God’s Word by faith...meaning, we may not know what our blessing will look like and we may not know what favor has in store for us. Faith means that we don't quite know when deliverance is coming but we do know that we have hope in God and His goodness, mercy and faithfulness.

I know that I can be lengthy and very simple-minded when I post my thoughts, but I do search the scriptures so that I can have confidence in who I am, for the scriptures truly speak of who God created me to be. I minister these truths to all who take the time to read them, even if it is only one person.  My prayer is that by something that I've shared, someone would come to love The Lord and begin to search His Word for their life for themselves...just one!

I minister in every way that God allows me to share His Word and I do it to edify, equip and to make known to God's people both inside and outside of the church walls, His Truth for anyone who believes.

Hense, the task of various ministers, which I am but one, to the body is not only to equip others for ministry, but also to help the body come to unity on doctrine and experience and knowledge of Christ with the goal of spiritual growth and maturity.

I do want for you "to tell 3 people...to give a handclap of praise...to praise your way out...Praise your way in...to worship in spirit and in truth"! What I don't want is for you to have zeal without knowledge. I don't want for you to just follow the crowd and do what they do. Don't become a spectacle with no foundation. Don't be a professional praiser but be authentic in your praise.

Get to know God through His Word, prayer and Holy Spirit.

As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ (Ephesians 4:14-15 NASB)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Two choices...either COMMIT or COMPROMISE

We hear that we are to grow up, that we are to mature as Christians because when we were Saved, we were reborn. We had to start on the milk of God's Word before we can get to the meat of His Word.

Well because of this, some would ask, "How will I know that I'm growing in The Lord? What would be a for sure sign that I'm maturing and doing what The Lord has called me to do?"

Let me tell you that one sure sign that you are growing and maturing manifests itself in your prayer life. You see, when you first start to pray, you pray for yourself..."Lord help me...Dear God lead me...Father bless me...". Then as you get a little stronger you begin to pray corporately, "Lord move in us...God bless Your people...Jesus create in us...". However, maturity is evident when we as God's elect, begin to intercede in prayer on behalf of those who wronged us, those who abused us, those who have accused, lied, shamed and cursed us.

You see, when we begin to intercede for those who aren't living according to the Word of God, then and only then will things begin to change.

So, we don't like the drug dealers in our neighborhoods, then pray for them! So, we don't like the Liquor stores that are being built near our children's school, then pray for those who desire to build in your school zone. If you don't like the abusive language; the rising of gangs and the criminal activities associated with gangs; and the disrespect to the elderly and of private property, then pray!

We must understand that in order to change the behavior and to change the hearts of those who are our enemy, we must first pray!!

COMMIT to prayer and never COMPROMISE. Our best stance against injustices truly occurs when we kneel down on bended knees to pray!

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. (1 Timothy 2:1 NLT)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Jesus Wept

This morning I woke up late as I was up most of the night reading posts about yet another shooting in my Hometown of Beaver Falls, PA. Last night's shootings involved two young men being shot.

This is played out night after night, not only in my Hometown, but also in your Hometowns. As I laid there reading the prayers, the outrage of friends and family, the frustration of a community and the fear associated with these shootings, the drugs and all of the crime...the verse in scriptures that is in my heart to share with readers of this post today is, Jesus Wept.

It is heartbreaking to understand the depth of sin that is in this world and how steeped in sin some of our children and some of us truly are.

Our Prisons ARE FILLED with boys who instead of learning to swing a bat, have been taught and have learned to "sling drugs"; instead of pulling up on a jump shots in a high school basketball game, they have opted to pull a trigger of a gun. Our girls, instead of playing with Barbie Dolls are raising their very own children at a very early age.

The streets are claiming our babies before they can learn life skills like playing a sport which equals team building, trust and teamwork. Playing with Dolls equals care, nurturing and responsibility.

Although the smallest of all scriptures, "Jesus Wept" is so profound. If we truly meditated on this verse and asked "why", we would begin to see the multitude of reasons for our Savior's tears.

Yes, He wept for the death of His friend Lazarus, but when you draw back and look at the much bigger picture, you will see that Jesus Wept for the death of all men. It wasn't supposed to be like this. Because of sin, we now face death. Jesus wept because every man born of a woman will experience death. Jesus wept because sin has separated from Him what He has created.

Jesus wept because of the loss of our children, family values, loss of fellowship with one another, the reliance on drugs, guns and illicit activities that permeates our society and the corresponding decline of righteousness, holiness and God fearing/life sustaining values. Jesus wept because we have compromised with the enemy instead of praying against the activities of the enemy (as long as it's not in my house).

Jesus wept because we have fallen so far away from what He created us to be.

It's Praying time and today, I'm praying for Beaver Falls and I'm joining you in praying for your Hometowns...don't just talk about it; BE ABOUT IT! Amen.

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - Pray like a child!

Forget all of the education, degrees and titles!  My children know how to get my attention about the things that they both need and want. Do you know how to get God's attention?

Pray like a child...but don't act out like a child!

Jesus called a little child to Him and put the child among them. Then He said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.  So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. (Matthew 18:2-4 NLT)

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - New Eyes of Faith!

I get excited when I hear of new and innovative strategies to reach others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I look around and see how many things have changed since I was a little boy who was attending Sunday School and church services.

I remember my teacher, Min. Esther White of Tabernacle Baptist Church, sitting us in the basement of the church teaching us with creative ways. We sometimes colored and made things to take home and we sometimes read stories. We sang and we played games. However, each week we learned a verse of Scripture.

As little kids we didn't have Bibles of our own, but relied on our parents and teachers. Today, the Bible is made available by many vehicles  (printed, internet, handheld devices, radio and television). But just because we receive God's Word by different means than I did as a young boy, doesn't mean that what is being done today is wrong, watered down or misleading!

As I sit on the Bus this morning, typing on my Smartphone that contains a Bible App with at least 8 different translations that I like to read (there are far more), I am both thankful and grateful for the many ways God uses to reach His children.

So, when your church tries new things, new music, new ministries to reach this new generation, don't get all freaked out...perhaps it was something new that someone tried with you to win you to Christ?

Embrace the fact that God wants everyone to be Saved and that He needs you to spread The Good News of salvation in new, innovative, creative and exciting ways. Hey, whatever it takes, it's worth it!

I'm a Christian today because a church in Waldorf MD created a Christian basketball league that my sons participated in...creative and effective; I was Saved by a game that I loved, it got my attention and Jesus got my heart!

We must have new eyes of faith to see where and how God is at work in all kinds of surprising ways and places.

My church today, The Journey of Faith Church in Waldorf, MD is being innovative. Our Pastor is starting a Bible Institute to engage the community throughout the week via a series of studies held by different leaders in small clusters so as to be accountable to one another as we forge ahead to become "United Believers who are walking in faith to win Souls and to Transform lives, through Word, Worship and Witness"!

JUST ENOUGH for The Journey - It's YOUR time to be Blessed!

Every day, we do everything by time. We use it, we waste it, we mark it, we make it. Some of us even "do" time. We wakeup by it, and as a final insult, we sometimes kill it! But with all of this "time" watching, monitoring and adhering by it, do we really know what time it is?

We realize when times are hard. We recognize when there are times of lack. We recall times of need, sickness and even sadness.

However, The Word of God reminds us that There is a Time for Everything...To Everything there is a Season! (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NKJV)

Well fam, God has placed it in me this morning to remind us all that if we have seasons of lack, then we need to be on the lookout for a season of plenty. God's Word assures me that when I've endured a season of isolation and separation, then I will come into a season of acceptance. Let it be known today that your season of incarceration has a release date attached to it! Understand that your season of family strife will culminate with a family reunion.

Do you really understand WHAT TIME IT IS?

It is YOUR time to be Blessed!

"To everything there  is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what  is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace." (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NKJV)
