Wednesday's Word: Only a FEW "Workers"!
So much to harvest but so FEW workers. So FEW willing to minister with the poor and addicted. So FEW willing to minister with the battered and abused. So FEW willing to minister to the homeless and destitute.
Yet so MANY in front of cameras and microphones. Yet so MANY talking the talk but not willing to walk the walk for the sake of peace and brotherly love. So MANY talking about prosperity; so FEW willing to struggle for the sake of our brothers and sisters who are hungry, ill, suffering discrimination and violence.
Yes, there are STILL so FEW workers!
"Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are FEW. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.” (Matthew 9:35-38 NIV)
WORKERS COME FORTH! Amen.
