It's important to have a higher standard within you than what others may place upon you.
There are always two ways of doing things. We can do the bare minimum and nothing more; we can do it in such a way as to make it clear that we hate the whole thing; or we can do it with a smile, with a gracious attitude, with a determination not only to do this thing, but to do it well and to do it graciously. We can do it not simply as well as we have to, but we can do it far greater than anyone ever expected us to.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” (Colossians 3:23-24 NIV)
